Having read a previous post which says Freddie found out he was HIV in late 1986, I have to disagree. I feel that Freddie knew he was positive either before or during the Magic Tour - either that or he had a feeling about it. My evidence for this is his extremely prophetic statement before WWTLF at Wembley and the amount of passion he puts into its performance. Also, the fact that he shuns the afterparty after Knebworth and is extremely quiet seems to suggest that he is preoccupied with something (final tour, hiv etc.,)

Possibly, as an argument broke out in Spain I think backstage and Freddie snapped back "Well I'm not gonna be doing this forever!" Can't remember where I read that now...
He knew he was HIV positive before the tour. Because of this, he didn't want to perform live anymore. But good 'ol Crystal got him drunk and they played a game of Scrabble. After a while, he agreed to do it :-) THANK YOU CRYSTAL!
I'm not sure so i'm not gonna say any more although i read in an official Queen book he didn't know till after the tour but even though i've read that in many places i'm not too sure as you all seem to think he knew before. I'll go with what your all saying then because i remember most people were saying he knew during the tour in one of the other threads.
In a concert in Leiden Freddie says something like he is tired half way through the set and seems really angry about that. He must have felt that something was wrong, even if he didn't know then.

I've read in Lesley-Ann Jones' biography "Freddie Mercury The Definitive Biography" that he once got all upset in '85 when he cut himself or something, and thus was bleeding. He supposed to have cried out to Barbara Valentin to keep away from him, coz he was dangerous or something.
Me being not up to speed with the legitimacy of this biography, it might be just a load of bullocks ofcourse.

you didn't. Brian said that on the interview for the new wembley DVD. Although he never actually said the words "Aids", he always said "it" so I wonder about it but I'm sure he must have been speaking of Freddie's illness.

I always thought Freddie was just going through the motions at Wembley. Compare with Live at the Bowl.

You mean the Roof Gardens afterparty with Samantha Fox and Gary Glitter? Some reliable sources say it was after the second Wembley concert, other sources say it was after Knebworth. Does anybody know for sure?

Yeah... I read in the book 'Queen - The Definitive Biography' that it was the Knebworth party and Lady Cobbold (the owner of Knebworth) has a quote to back it up.
according to many sources, he had an AIDS test in 1985 which came back negative...but with the lifestyle he had led...im sure he knew it was only a matter of time. he must have begun to feel physically different, and had renewed fears,that led to his 1987 test
