Guns and Roses will be no more because Axl has a lot of baggage he needs to shed before reforming another band. Too bad he's a good singer but seriously f*cked up in the head.
I admire Duff and Slash for having the strength to form a great band like Velvet Revolver, they are really hard rocking and do a great show.
If Axl ever gets it together and forms a new band I would go to see him, but he's got a long road...
Cheers,
Kriz

GnR is fantastic. Expect some comments about them in the next Bechstein Debauchery :)
The only song of theirs I listen to is November Rain. The song is quite good.
I'm not overly keen on Axl's voice, he reuined We Will Rock You at Freddie's memorial show imo.

G 'n' R WERE great, but no longer exist. Axl was an idiot, who was a good songwriter with a unique voice that was poor, but he could write songs that hid the limitations, so his voice works on the G'n'R stuff. He was crap at the Queen+ section of the Tribute. His ego ruined G'n'Rs warm up set as well, the "sing along" part of Knockin' on Heavens Door went on way too long and killed the atmosphere that they had done a great job of building up to that point.
I doubt I'll bother with any new G'n'R but would like to see Velvet Revolver. Slash Duff etc are still great.

I love Axl Rose very much,and ofcourse guns n roses. I can't get enough of don't cry .. great song,don't you think :) ?
GnR ROCK! Ok not as much as Def Leppard but nobody can match DL. Also, why do people hate Axl so much? He speaks his mind which is a fantastic quality to have. At least he doesn't bottle his opinions up and speaks just to please people. He was fantastic at FM's tribute which shows that he CAN sing other peoples songs. And what was wrong with 'One In A Million' anyway? He sung what he wanted it was a great song. Trust some people to kick up a fuss - and people who get upset about a record should just chill out. Axl was great, but like so many wannabe's, they can't touch Joe Elliott.
Leppar, were you at the FM Tribute?
I was and Axl was way out of tune, he was one of the lesser singers there.
As for Def Leppard, give it a rest. I am a huge Leppard fan, but even I can see that they are not the most talented band in the universe. They are a great band with a great frontman, who whilst being a better singer than Axl (by miles) is still not an all time great, but like Axl he knows him limitations and stays within them which is good, but doesn't make him the greatest singer in the universe. (PS Leppard were great at the FM Tribute)

You seriously need to give Def Leppard a rest on these boards, man. I mean, I quite like Def Lep, but in the end they were just a hair band that made 2 or 3 successful albums and just faded away ever since.
If you want to talk about how great is Def Lep, then there's plenty of Def Leppard boards all over then internet. Ever thought of spending more time there, than here? Not like I'm saying to not come here, just cool it a bit with Def Lep and Joe Elliot.
I mean, whenever you say something about Def Leppard you sound like Joe Elliot's lost 80s groupie. I could definitely see you spending all your lifetime savings money on Rick Allen's left arm after being up for sale on Ebay.

Why do i spend time here? Maybe because i love Queen. And yes, i am on other Def Leppard messageboards.

But this isn't an "other Def Leppard messageboard" it's a Queen messageboard.....
And were you at the FM Tribute?
I don't mean to be harsh, but two things come to mind;
1) No matter how much you like another band, ramming it down at every opportunity does no good, you're even pissing off other Leppard fans like me. I have plenty of other bands than I like including Leppard, Thunder, Magnum, Marillion / Fish, etc but I don't constantly go on about how good they are. Mentioning it now and then is OK, just not every post :P
2) If you weren't at a gig it's hard to judge it. Voices mix etc can be improved before broadcast / release and the version of the Tribute concert that is available is very different in some places to actually being there. For example the Robert Plant section of the Tribute gig was edited to make him sound better on the release.
It can't portray atmosphere either so I'd take the judgement of someone who was there over a recording any time. Recordings of Ozzy gigs are a fine example of this, they do not do him justice.
Why do ...some of you hate Axl Rose?
I thought Axl was great, and had a good voice - but some homos can't get over a sentance of one song.
Axl does not have a good voice, but he does know how to use a poor voice well, which is almost as good. (Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy from Motorhead are other good examples of this)
The reason I don't like him is because of his comtempt of fans ie tantrums at / before gigs or just not showing. That is not acceptable when people have spent a lot of money to see a show. And it isn't just the odd occasion that he has done this

I'm a huge Guns N' Roses fan but I have to say that as a person I hate Axl.
Axl managed to get the best bunch of musicians he could possibly get and formed Guns N' Roses. After the release of 'Apetite For Destruction' and the 'Use Your Illusion' albums, everybody seemed to predict that Guns N' Roses was going to become the greatest thing since the big bands of the 70s... Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and of course Queen. However, thanks to Axl's fascist way to run his band, the whole group fell apart.
Slash couldn't have said it better... "With Axl, it's just impossible to work".

Now back to the topic of Axl's voice, he has a voice that is only good in a hard rock genre. In fact most rock singers sound only good in their own genres, or sometimes only with their original songs. That's perhaps one of the reason why AC/DC has never written a ballad or anything close to it. Just picture Brian Johnson getting soft and singing a ballad? Creepy isn't it?
Axl did good at the Freddie Mercury Tribute IMO. However, the only thing I have to say he did wrong was missing the tempo on 'We Will Rock You'. For some reason, almost all musicians who have attempted to sing it, screw it up on the line:
- "...Somebody better put you back in your place".
