Q
I think The Sex Pistols are great because they didn't give a shit about what people thought of them. Johnny was extravagant, Steve was outrageous, Glen was the one who didn't last long
Paul was the quiet one and Sid was the rebel
Even though he couldn't play that fucking bass!
What do we think of these punk pioneers
I'm just a musical prostitute my dear! FREDDIE MERCURY 1984

Yeah they were good for the time. Did you know that it was thanks to Queen pulling out that they got that now infamous Bill Grundy interview slot?
I'm saying nothing.....

Personally I think they were utter crap and they only got media attention thanks to the way they created controversy.

Now, 'The Clash' and 'The Ramones' those are real punk bands.

They were pretty rude, and to me, discourtesy is VERY unspeakable.

as a movement they were pioneers. Their music was...well throw away shite.
Freddie: "Yes, we'll have a great big cock fly over the crowd!" Roadies: "Yeah! Great Idea!" Freddie: "And it will fly into a great big mouth with a moustache!"

I bought Nevermind the Bollocks: Here's the Sex Pistols in the 7th grade, that would have been oh about 1988. I liked it for a year or so, it was a phase for me.
Wo ist das kamerahhhhhhhhhhh!!! NJ!!!

Well.. they were the ones who started the punk movement in England and thanks to the Pistols we had bands like The Clash who were much more talented as musicians and especially as songwriters.
The Sex Pistols were fun but they never took neither themselves nor the music seriously enough to last.
The Clash are the real legend. God bless Joe Strummer!

Love 'em. Which other punk band went down in history? The Clash maybe but you never hear of Sham 69, The Slits, Buzzcocks. Unless you're in my house of course.
Guess who's back?

And unless you're a fan of German (punk) rock band "Die Toten Hosen"

:-)

I love Sham 69! They were way better than the Pistols. It's a shame they didn't get further.

The Ramones went down in history but ok they were the first ones anyway.

I don't like them.

I forgot about the Ramones. Your're right of course. Praise then to the New York Dolls as well.
