Change the record cloud9. (My saying of the week!!) Who the fuck are you to decide who's a Queen fan and who's not? :-P
Apparently, he thinks he's President Bush. Because--like Bush--his superior attitude, piety and judgementalness make him an unwanted presence in this board.
Anyway, a cheesy Queen song for me would indeed be Delilah, but (and I know I'll get flamed for this) I really feel like the song The Miracle was mediocre, sing-songy, and cheesy. Really quite embarassing. TO me, it sounds like the lyrics were to a rejected U2 ballad, and then putting it to a weak, throwaway pop melody. Even the shimmering glow of the polished vocals seems kinda cheesy to me. The song to me seemed forced, corny and just...bad. And I like a bunch of Queen's pop stuff; I Want to Break Free, Breakthru, You're My Best Friend.....The Miracle was.....
Not the same kind of stuff. It seemed to lack the passion, honesty, and "oomph" that Queen gave to most of their pop songs. It seemed to me they were retreading themselves and just phoning it in.
I could really go for, like, a block of cheese right now.
I love that song. I find it cute. Bicycle race is a fun happy silly song, But not chessy. None of queen's songs are chessy!!
oh go to hell you stupid no hoper Queen Zeppelin. if you don't like them don't write about them.
Oh my God, you're still here? Shit. Please, I wonder if you have ever posted a topic that doesn't
a) Proclaim yourself as the only Queen fan. If not only, then certainly the best and the only person worthy of liking Queen.
or
b) Tell in no uncertain terms that someone is not a Queen fan, and that by pretending, they are commiting a mortal sin.
OK, 1) Go outside, take a deep breath of fresh air 1b) I would actually prefer that it was smoggy -and possibly poisonous- enough for you to suffer instant lung failure and die, but I guess I can't have everything! and 2) GET OVER YOURSELF!
Anyway, the topic. Delilah is definitely one of Queen's cheesier songs. Good Company, that too. Friends Will Be Friends has a degree of cheesiness, but I like it anyway.
Body Language and Dancer are seriously cheesy. Not that there's anything wrong with a bit of cheese now and again. Nothing at all! :-D

Queen, esp. in the 80's, to specialize in cheesiness. Examples: The Miracle, AKOM, IWTBF, Hard Life, Friends Will Be Friends, Play the Game, etc.
Of these the cheesiest (IMHO) is The Miracle.
Don't worry, I still like most of these songs.

Don't Try So Hard? You really think so? That's my 2nd favorite on Innuendo. I guess I'm just sentimental, falling for that falsetto.
i know what u mean i like to give em all an airing sometimes! its just the lyric makes me cringe!
I don't think Delilah is cheesy exactly -- it's more jarringly sweet and naive. Contextually dissonant. I think whoever said it was a personal song was right.
Friends Will Be Friends is so cheesy that the first time I heard it I thought, "Why are they covering an Elton John song?" And Pain is So Close to Pleasure reminds me of the always cheesy (Muskrat Love?) Captain and Tennille's "Love Will Keep Us Together."
Hey, Delilah don't look so bad next to Muskrat Love, does it?

I hope that's not sentimental. That falsetto was one of my favorite things about them as a band.
