Ok so is it Brian's version or Queen's version that does it for you? Mine is Brian's because I think he puts more into it. Maybe it means more to him. And I like the arrangement better on his version.
James
I also like Brian`s version better. Its one of the few songs were Freddie`s voice doesn`t really fit.
Freddie`s is "too" professional for the tune of the song imo. It`s like putting a semi-quaver sweep picking fast scale as intro to CLTCL, sometimes less is more.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.
And the guitarsolo in the Queen version sucks!
I love his voice in the song - but it ain't right. Needs a more delicate touch. How can I put this... the lyrics and the roughness of his voice seem a bit mismatched. I dunno.
Brian- his verion is subtle
Queen's is a bit corny, I don't know... Too nice, too melodramatic, to smooth...

Brian has the agonising sound in his voice as though he deeply believes that too much love will kill you.
...this kettle is boiling over... ...one dump...one turd...two tits...John Deacon... ...one prawn...one shrimp...one clam...one chicken!
I feel so alone liking the Queen version...

Peace,
Adam.
Can't decide between the two... although would have loved a live version by Freddie.

Don't feel alone, I like it better, too.
I like Brian's as well,
but the power in the Queen version is fantastic.
I can see how some think it is "inappropriate", though.
You just can't beat the reasonably priced mosquito repellant OFF.
I like them both but it's true, Brian puts more heart in it. But he doesn't use his voice right...

The Queen version is better, it's a modern song, with a rock arrangement. Brian's version is just more personal. And Freddie is not "too profesional" he has just a powerful and better voice.

Adam you're not alone ;)
Anything too stupid to be said... is sung.
Both are great but Queen's version really does it for me
"I'm going up Buchanan Street With a box of fireworks And two bottles of Tizer"
I like Brian's version but it's Freddie singing it that does it for me. His voice is more powerful and when it comes to the higher notes Freddie could do it better than Brian. It's one of my favourite songs anyway and Brian singing it is really beautiful but Freddie's version almost gives me chills..
"This world may be another planet's hell." - Aldous Huxley
Definitly Queen's version.
It has "the" Queen sound.
Freddie in all his vocal glory , Brian keeps it cool and not too many guitar overdubs , John and Roger - perfect rhythem section!
And there you have it!
