haha....anyone gonna watch the Simpson's same sex marriage episode out this Sunday? I think that's a pretty groundbreaking for Fox prime time. About time for you Americans! lol.

Isn't that the episode where one of the characters come out of the closet?

I know a lot of people expect Smithers to be the one coming out of the closet, but since there have been so many obvious references to him being gay, it'd be too predictable.
For those who really know that show, it's been said that the one coming out is Marge's sister, Patty. Some might say that Patty has been seen dating men on the show, but if you remember particularly well it's always been Patty's twin sister Selma the one who has always been involved in failed love relationships.

However, I'm up for another big surprise. Perhaps it will be Milhouse the one coming out.

There was also speculation that it would be Lenny and Carl. I don't know who it is but I don't think it's Patty because she made a decision to be celibate. I'm also quite sure it won't be Smithers, because as you said, that would be too obvious.
I'm thinking it might be some lesser character like Comic Book Guy or Bumblebee Man - or Krusty and Sideshow Mel? Who knows...and it's not like we'll be seeing it here any time soon :-(

I'm glad. Patty/Selma have ruined the show for me. Except for the time when Homer gets an air conditioner and outside the Earth is melting as are Patty and Selma. Best ever.
