Synthesisers

Rock It was recorded in 1980; there are three synth-songs done earlier:

- Coming Soon (`78-`79, although the OBX was released in`79 so probably the Jazz demo didn`t have synths)

- Save Me

- Sail Away Sweet Sister

Any of the three could be first, BUT, imho, Save Me is the band`s official debut in synths because it was released before the Game album (which is the one containing CS, SASS and PTG)

Btw, again, it`s not 100% Brian those "special" sounds. There are some (even if not many) effects generated by the others in piano, percussion or vocals. And a couple of soundboard effects (not many again, they preferred human sounds). Btw John also did guitar choirs (Misfire).

Yeah but only for little peices of it. While Hot Space only had the drum machine instead of his standard Ludwig.

In my opinion, the best example of what Brian could do with his guitar and the amp John created are the incredible effects used near the end of Good Company. Invariably, people claim that these sounds cannot be coming from a guitar.....pretty impressive.

They stopped using Synthesisers because of this exact reason

Isn't there a downward spiralling effect on Fun It? I'll need to listen to it, but I'm sure there's some kind high-pitched effect like that.

roger is a frustrated rock n roller - and is more inclined to pick up a guitar than a synth
