Favorite artists and bands (as well as those disliked) by Queen members

Totally agree with QueenZeppelin-

I know this is 7th grade crap, but I think Freddie would have whipped shit out of ole' Asshole Rose.

Everytime Asshole went after someone, he'd usually end up on the ground a few seconds later.

Freddie's height in inches is about equivelent to Asshole's IQ, and I always put money on the more intelligent fighter.

Is this the same Axl that had Kurt Cobain running scared? Or the Axl that was always getting into fights and wasn't scared? While the 'buff' Freddie was being hard and crying just because someone bit his finger. Oh no, what agony, poor lickle Freddiepoos. Freddie was the more intelligent but Axl was much harder.

Freddie was a winning boxer when he was a kid, he won trophies as a boxer, so i think he'd kick the shit out of Axl.

Axl had a feud with Vince Neil from Motley Crue, after they had an encounter at the 1988 or 1989 MTV Awards. I'm not sure what triggered the fight, but I think the whole feud started when Steven Adler was hitting on Vince's girlfriend. Vince challenged Axl to a fist fight and told him to pick the time and place, Axl replied by calling him names but guess he didn't want to fight, perhaps because Vince Neil might kick his ass.

About Kurt Cobain, Axl didn't exactly pick a fight with Kurt but rather with Courtney Love. That was at the 1992 MTV Awards, and he told Kurt... "Why don't you tell your bitch to shut up!". Weird thing is that Axl was very supportive of Nirvana when they got their contract with Geffen Records, which was also the record company of G n'R. Axl can be seen wearing a blue Nirvana baseball cap on the "Don't Cry" video.

How do you know Freddie didn't like U2?

I'm not sure whether Freddie exactly said that he didn't like U2, but he mentioned that he didn't like the fact that they were too political. Can't remember where I read it, but it's been quoted quite a bit on different Queen books.

Now speaking of Live Aid, I recall reading on some U2 book, that Brian walked up to Bono and told him: - "That guitarist of yours, 'The Hedge' is really good".

no it wasn't.. UYI was released sometime in summer 1992 after FM tribute gig... axl started this song around 1982 but it wasn't finished until 92 and they never played it live before UYI tour...

and to someone who claimed that axl can't fight.. have you seen footage from st.louis riot? axl jumped from the stage on the head of some guy from a motorcycle gang because the security didn't want to get a camera (and a knife as some poeple claim) from the guy so axl jumped from the stage and started a fight with this guy... :)

If you watch carefully "Do they know it's christmas" at Live Aid you can see that Freddie is friendly to Bono, so I don't think he had anything against U2.
I think by then anyone could see the potencial of U2 and personally I don't think Freddie would have wanted any rivalty with them

He was far too clever.

I think you should add to Freddie's list "Tears for fears". I don't know where I read they were one of his favorites bands of the 80's because he liked their lyrics.

I've never heard of Freddie not liking U2. It's a damn shame though because they're a great band.
