Roger didn't like Spandau Ballet!
Now speaking of Spandau Ballet, I think Freddie really liked them and he was good friends with the lead singer.
I never read that Freddie hated AC/DC. Ironic as he was AC/DC! Brian is a massive AC/DC fan seen photos of him in AC/DC shirt and says he likes their pure energy. AC/DC are the 2nd greatest rock band of all time after Queen imo.
Dunno whether AC/DC is one of the best bands ever since most of their songs sound about the same, but without a doubt AC/DC is one of the best LIVE bands of all time.

Also, Roger appeared on some Kansas record or other, so I think you could safely put them under his likes. And he did 3 tracks on a Gary Numan album ("Dance") so I'm thinking maybe Gary ought be added... Gary conversely was a big Queen fan as well, as made evident by some of the DoRo clips.
And I'll risk posting this again: I'm sure Freddie was a big admirer of Edith Piaf, though I can't quite come up with the quote to prove it... I did try on Google, but got tired of stupid pages...

If you watch carefully "Do they know it's christmas" at Live Aid you can see that Freddie is friendly to Bono, so I don't think he had anything against U2.
I think by then anyone could see the potencial of U2 and personally I don't think Freddie would have wanted any rivalty with them
Well, he can be friendly with the members of U2 and still dislike their music. I've never heard or seen anything that would indicate that Freddie did indeed dislike U2, but it just seems like a matter of common sense that he could be friendly with them and still dislike their music.

Well, it was posted on one of the Fan Club Magazines. So no surprise why he dislikes The Carpenters, Brian is for the most part a man of good taste.
Brian was almost enthusiastic about Whitney Houston in a "Q-Magazine" interview, he said something like "the best female singer in the world". Hope it was ironic from him, but I don't think so...
