hmm .. I don't have problem with it; It is QUEEN that stands big at the advertisements, i't will be QUEEN that will be big at the cd and dvd cover, it is QUEEN's come-back tour ..
I just think it's fair.

And you can say that it was Queen who gave Paul the opportunitie to Tour. Without Paul, the Queen-boys wouldn't even tour ..

So .. it really doesn't botter me at all :P

I think this one is pretty weird

He does not make any difference between his solo concerts and the Queen+PR gigs - you might think it's all Paul Rodgers solo.
I do not want any google ads here.

Why would this set of merchandise have ANYTHING to do with Queen?

The web-site and this particular section is devoted to Paul's *SOLO* touring. Paul has had an extremely successful career without having had ANYTHING to do with Queen - his on-going commitments with Bad Company keep him at the top of the tree in the states as evidenced by the recent Bad Co. live CD / DVD release. Add to that his product with Free, The Firm, his tribute relaeses to Muddy Waters and hendrix as well as numerous solo albums and you have a career that is more prolific than any of the members of Queen put together.

It has something to do with the Q + PR tour Benn. Just look at this pic http://www.paulrodgers.com/merch/2005/printdetails_back.gif, those are the Q + PR dates.
I got to try al little more, because I'm an asshole but I'm learning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfTLkUcQ7QY

Maybe, and I'm just guessing, but maybe he's catering to his fans.

Heaven forbid...

maybe he doesn't know about the merchandise. It can be realised by his managment without his opinion.

I'm not trashing PR, (he's a pretty good singer) or Brian & Rog or getting into the should they/shouldn't they debate - this is merely my observation and thoughts. I'm just curious that all of sudden Brian and Roger come out saying they've had this long association with Paul Rogers when he has never been mentioned in interviews or any biographies before by any of the Queen members?(I will humbly stand corrected if someone can find anything!) I think they even have said he was friend of Freddie? BUT before the Hall of Fame bit I have NEVER heard of Paul Rogers before. People are saying that he has had a successful solo career before this but I have never seen any albums of his and I've been cruising music stores since I was a teenager - that's 25 years. So where has he been and who has he been playing with that he so goddamn great?? If he has a solo career, where and what is his music? It just seems to me that he has had a stroke of luck being asked to front this tour because lets be honest not many people really knew about him before this? And I think he was asked because Brian and Roger didn't want a BIG name in front to take away from them - otherwise they would have asked George Michaels or Robbie Williams etc?

As to the merchandising bit, not that I agree with it but he or his management are probably being business smart and getting on the gravy train before it leaves because I doubt that PR will have this amount of success once the tours are over.

Okay, woops Benn, I didn't see your post. But, I still say that he can't possibly be as well known as Queen was/is before he was asked to front the band?

Paul Rodgers has done various collaborations with Brian May

1991 they played the Expo 92 Guitar Legends in Sevilla together, Paul Rodgers sang "All Right Now" and "Hey Joe", Brian played guitar to these songs and he was the musical director of the event

1993 Brian played guitar to "I'm Ready" on Paul Rodger's album Muddy Water Blues

1996 Brian performed on stage with Paul Rodgers in Los Angeles

1996 Brian and Paul Rodgers both performed on the Rock Therapy charity single "Reaching Out" I think they even performed on TOTP but I am not sure

Maybe there was more - this is just from memory. He is apparently a long time friend of Brian and as such sure a good choice for the tour.

Paul Rodgers had numerous hits, if you don't know him, it's not his fault:) I am sure you would recognise such classics as "Shooting Star", "All Right Now", "Feel Like Making Love" and " I Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" if you hear them on the radio.
I do not want any google ads here.

BellyDancer, re:

If you had any inclination to discover him, I'm sure that you will already be well aware of the following links that provide detail on Paul's career:

It's certainly not an issue whether Paul is or isn't as well-known as Queen, but what is certain is that Paul's voice is possibly one of the top 5 miost recognisable in the history of Rock and that Free and Bad Co. were two of the most influential bands from the late 60's to the mid-70's.

As for your cruising of record stores since you were a teenager, perhaps you should stay out of the sections marked "Queen"..........

It's Paul Rodgers Solo tour merchandising.
This can only mean that he's going to open voor Queen.

that's really clever...! I also think he will be the opening act. Doing solo stuff for about half an hour and than play live with Queen.

Queen will also have their own merchandise..i'm sure! They will be that smart to do so. I mean, they know that every new product with the name Queen on it will sell (that's why they will release QOFATB on vinyl)

So don't worry Queen will also have their own tour merchandise... i think.

They will for sure have merchandising as well.

About the LATB release on vinyl: that was because of the huge demand of fans. So, they actually listen to the fans and release this product on vinyl as well. I don't think they will make that much (if any) money on this release.
