Caught him being interviewed on Jools Holland a while back & he came across as a tosser then, so.... jealousy usually brings out the worst in people.
Robert Smith looks like the offspring of Edward Scissorhands and Star Jones.
Being a goth is about looking fragile, skinny, and just plain weird (which worked for Robert Smith back in the 80s) but when you have 3 chins and weigh are 250 lbs like Robert Smith today, it just doesn't work.
After all, Robert Smith and The Cure hit the fuckin' wall since 1992 the least. Queen's popularity (not counting The States) remained strong through most of their careers.

Download all his songs illegally from the internet. I'm willing to e-mail people songs from The Cure as long as that keeps them away from buying their albums.

Well... That's a big difference. Robert Smith didn't say that Queen is a comedy band. He said it about The Darkness. According to Queen he just said he always hated their music, that's all. I think there's nothing wrong with that. There's a lot of people who hate Queen, just like there is a lot of people who love it. It means that Queen's music doesn't leave you indifferent. That's good, isn't it?

Pardon me, but does anyone else deduce from the previous quote of a quote, that he's refering to the Darkness as a comedy band???
Thinking about it now, Smith must have been one of the punks back in the late 70's that dimissed Queen. The Sex Pistols, Clash etc. were at the front of that alliance. Doesn't really matter though, remember, Queen ended up playing in stadiums whereas The Cure are playing small venues. Yeah, tha's reason enough to hate them Bobby.

Robert Smith is an asshole in my opinion.
I like some Cure songs and i've been to their show in rome and it was a great concert but I don't like at all their idea of music.If you listen and play a Cure song you will see for sure that there are ALWAYS the same chords and always the same rytmichs.A professional musician has not to do that and has not to feel with this thinking way.In fact the Cure are the ONLY band to make music in this way; always the same themes, alwyas the same stories, always the same fucking shit.
They were the opposite music to Queen.
In my opinion Robert Smith is envy about Queen and about their music and about the concerts they were able to do.
He will never be remember as a great musician apart for the "dark" movement people.
