wow. I'm sorry I ever posted it. But I thought that if you own the dvd its legal for you to have mp3's of that dvd's audio? This is unofficial i may say, and this is how i think (i've never done this) you can create a sound file from a dvd.
Here is one way to get the mp3's off of the dvd.
What U need:
A DVD-Rom
The OFFICIAL Live Aid DVD Set
Dbpoweramp
What U do:
1. Insert DVD into dvd-rom
2. Using some sort of dvd application (i think dvd shrink will do) copy the dvd to your hard drive
3. Using Dbpoweramp click on audio_ts (i think or maybe its video_ts) and there should be a dbpoweramp option to convert the audio
4. Using dbpoweramp choose Mp3 (Lame)and click convert.
5. Using some sort of mp3 authoring tool, cut up the audio files so they cued to song.
Again off the top of my head this is basically a guess. I do know that if you have a mpeg (mpXX related file which a dvd file is) that dbpoweramp allows you to convert to other formats.
