Why don't all of you calm down and grow up?
Really. it's very disturbing to see all of us, as Queen fans, getting to outraged over this.. and replying with "fuck off", etc... if so many of you are sticking up for the younger generation, why don't you watch your language while you're at it. Honestly, my friends. this is getting silly.
I've made my thoughts clear, and also made it clear that they were based on facts, not personal feeling or bias. I'm not about to start a cursing match and shit-talk other Queen fans who do not agree with me. The way it is is simple: if you honestly believe and know that this *is* Queen, and that nay-sayers should *shut the fuck up*, *live in the past*, etc.- then leave it at that and let them rant. Smile knowingly and go and enjoy "Queen". And, if you feel that this is Brian/Rog + Guest Vocalist, feel content at that knowledge and shake your head at the unrealistic people who live vicariously through their favorite band.
Nothing you say, scream, or threaten can change things *now*. And, you cannot change people's minds for them, regardless of facts or feelings.
But, whether you agree with me or not, It is increasingly disturbing having to read such crass language from people who are obviously adults if they remember Knebworth. (i on the other hand was 5 when that show occured) And, as we've discovered in recent days, many young Queen fans obviously come to these boards. I know queen2 personally, (luckily for me, it's because i have the good fortune of dating his alluring older sister *ahem*) and I see this kid every week, and every week its, "did you see the thread I posted on at queenzone??" Really. this is a 9 year old child, and there are other children. So if you're going to bicker, remember that children are watching you- and if so many of you want the next generation to experience Queen, please set a proper example for them then of how a Queen *fan* behaves.

Well, lets clear a few things up.
1) I have been a queen fan from the start, so yes your guess was right, I am getting on a bit.
2)I want queen music to live for ever, and be played live for as long as poss. My kids are queen fans, and I think its great that young queen fans have got the chance to see queen music played as it should be, loud, live and raw, I have had the pleasure of see it done this way (with Freddie), and welcome any chance for others that have not been as lucky as me to do the same.
Queen music spans all generations, and thats great, it keeps the music alive, but what pisses me off is all this name thing, and others raming their views on us time and time again, not giving a toss what others think, they think they are right and only their view counts, which is bullying, they are trying to dictate to the rest of us what we should think.
As I have said on another thread, there was none of this "its not Queen " when the musical came out, and that is billed as "the musical by Queen and Ben Elton". Yet it was still only BM and RT as the driving force.
My point is this, yes its not the old Queen, but if you as a younger person, who maybe has not seen Queen, should be greatful that you can now at long last see the next best thing, 2 of the members playing their music for what maybe the last time, live.
So stop bitching about the name, and make the most of it.
Most of Man Utd`s team died in a plane crash years ago, but the team still plays on, Henry Ford died years ago but you can still drive his cars. Its a name, thats all, it is not going to change your life, cure aids or get shot of world poverty, its not that important what name they go by.

One final point I forgot to add, I am not living in the past, it those that want to hang on to the old Queen that are in the past, I have moved on, and am looking forward to the new Queen with Paul Rodgers, I really hope that the tour rocks.

Stay at home- I'm gonna have fun in Brixton, Sheffield, Wembley and few other places; wasn't fortunate enough to be born in 60s to be able to ever see them live. Now I can see PART of it- eneough to make me feel REAAALY excited. And it's the same for many others. Why is that an issue for some ppl? Stay home and enjoy A KIND OF MAGIC or ADATR on your hi-fi. I'll listen to Red Special playing some of those tracks live... And I'll enjoy it!
