well i was arguing the point that the venues he mentioned (as he did in the e mail!) werent big enough, and he was blah blah about the fact that (queen) had contacted the secc only to find the night they wanted was booked............. and subsequently they havent bothered to re arrange, so ive bacically told him to be patient lol, also he was on about rem, who had to cancel a gig thre and are actually doin a gig (at a loss) at some other venue. anyway, the upshot is, ive mailed him again ha ha! saying be patient as theres lots of other countries wanna see the show, and is it just his Scottish "island" mentality getting in the way! he he! ill keep u posted!

Excellent. Cheers for that. Actually when I first read Billy's reply I thought he had put his foot in it for us ever seeing them play here. Dunno why tho..
Personally I think they should be playing the village hall in my remote village as the 100 mile round trip to the nearest gig is way too far.

I actually agree with Billy Sloan on this one. Scottish fans have been left totally in the dark as to the fact that a gig was even being organised. It was over 2 months ago Scotland was mentioned for autumn dates, due to PR's solo tour. As this has been cancelled, and Dublin now has dates announced, I think we all assumed Scotland would be announced next.

+ PAUL RODGERS tour you would have found out that
QUEEN have no intention of "snubbing" scotland.

1. Scotland was ALWAYS a stronghold for Queen. They played the Apollo
on
numerous occasions in the Seventies not to mention other venues
mentioned.
For them NOT to have a gig here is a nonsense. Scotland should be a
priority ... not an afterthought.
2. You accuse me of ill research. I fear you suffer from that a wee
bit
yourself. You clearly have a problem with the SECC. Thousands of
others
don't. The SECC isn't the perfect venue ... but it's no better/worse
than
the MEN Arena in Manchester, Newcastle Arena, Birmingham NEC or Wembley
Arena. All venues on the forthcoming Queen tour.
In fact, I'd argue that the SECC is far superior to any of those
mentioned
simply because Hall 4 is a more intimate space. Get a ticket for the
back
row of the SECC and compare it with a seat in the back row of any of
those
venues. See which one gives the best/closest view of the act.

stops and fix a date. True fans don't care about all the fancy stage

etc. which make up the stage set for an arena show. They'd be happy
just
to see the group on stage. So they could play a couple of nights at

Academy or Barrowland simply to ensure Scotland does not miss out.
You're strangely quiet on my suggestions they could return to
Ingliston.
Now, there's a real crap venue ... but 8500 fans would put up with it
if it
meant the difference between seeing them and not seeing them. R.E.M.
decided to play the tent on Glasgow Green instead of cancelling their
postponed SECC show. It's actually costing the US group more money to
do
that. But they felt so strongly about not disappointing fans it was
worth
it. Queen could do the same. Again, it's not ideal ... but if it's
good
enough for R.E.M., The Stone Roses and Radiohead - who've also played a
tent on Glasgow Green - it should be good enough for Queen.
