Thomas, I won't wear a Queen shirt, either - I don't own a Queen shirt.

And to make up for that, YV will come dressed as a Queen, complete with crown and scepter.

I wouldn't recommened that Thomas do that, however.

Wow! I'd love to see that YV! ;-)

Who is the Queen, Jeroen? ;)

Where is the Academy in relation to the pub?
Y
"Come out of the tube and up the steps (there is only one exit). Turn RIGHT keep walking for a little while (you'll pass the beehive and the goose pubs) then you'll get to a big crossing and if you look left you'll be able to see Brixton Academy and a pub called the Showcase.
However turn directly RIGHT at the lights (don't bear right as thats the main road) into Canterbury Cresent and if you have good eyes you'll see the pub about 100 yards down the right."

Oh yes, it's marked on the map too. I'm sure the people on whose behalf I was asking will be grateful...

next question...eggy, is that carpark just by the pub reaosnably secure/reasonably cheap? If not, where is the best place? I think last time (1993) I parked on St Matthews Rd (poss by the police station????)

Enquiring minds need to know these things.

Or do you have a driveway/garage? lol
M
I was wondering about doing a sort of park & ride, coming in on the M4 and parking near a tube station.

Does anyone local have any ideas? Heathrow possibly?
Y
Heathrow is pretty far out and the last tube from Brixton goes at 12:20, maybe even earlier because it's a holiday, so it's risky - better leave your car in a car port near a tube station that can be reached with a night bus.

Sorry, to be perfectly honest I'm not the guy to ask about parking.
I've only ever gone by tube, and I can't say I've ever seen the car park that's close to the pub.
But it's in a South London backstreet so...
R
So I'm staying at a hotel near Oxford Street (central London)

How do I get there with the tube, what's the travel time?

and most importantly: are there any tubes after the gig back to central london, or should I take a cab? And if so, do I have to order one

too many goddamn questions ... but I'm a stranger in London, so please help me out on this one

OXFORD CIRCUS tube station- take VICTORIA LINE southbound and it goes all the way down straight to BRIXTON :) Travel time? About 10-15 minutes I guess... That's a quick one...
Not sure about tube after gig, but shouldn't be aproblem- if it's about 11 (ish), I'm absolutely certain it's gonna be fine.

One of the guys at work says theat he parks at Hillingdon Tube Station, which is could be on my way into town. Does that sound better?

just had an email from Brixton saying the ticket office will open at 4pm for pickup
J
Wicked... I just got an e-mail too, saying venue pick-up starts at 5!!!

(Btw: I'm leaving for London tomorrow, and as expected my tickets did NOT arrive! "special delivery" indeed...)
