I have 2 questions myself:
Does anybody else thinks that Paul should sing "i want it all"?
Do you guys think that Roger shouldn't use a fake drum on Radio gaga / These are the days.. ?

Receiving a blow job off stage ;)
Damn! And we were told PR won't copy Freddie :))

IMO it worked with Brian.

I didn't mind that actually :) I'm surprised, but I really didn't mind...
I forgot one more thing. As I bought the program (12 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and after the gig had some chicken (yep- THAT place ;) ) I run out of cash. So with my credit card I went in search of cash machine, forgetting what was told before a concert (Martin was it? eggy? jeroen?)- THERE WAS NO MONEY IN CASH MACHINES IN THE ENTIRE BRIXTON!!! I checked about seven different ones! At the end of the day I had to walk home... Thank god Brixton is so close to Camberwell...! My girlfriend till now is joking, saying "...but 12 pounds!!!" :) Made the bloody gig even more special :)
Am uploading some pics to the site so maybe Richard could validate?
I am validating now
I was going to get a T-shirt after the gig but the queue was massive, so I ran to the tube instead so I could get an earlier train.
It's was Jeroen who explained the cash machine fun. Quite happy I got money at St Albans train station or I'd have buggered with no money too.
Glad you enjoyed Favourite Chicken. I took another 30 mins off my life yesterday with 2 pieces of chicken and chips. Gorgeous!!!?!

It's great to hear the guys are back in great form, and Paul did a good job. I must say after the fancourt webcast I was starting to get a bit worried.
The only thing that sounds a bit disappointing is the setlist. It seems that they're really going for a greatest hits show. Don't get me wrong I'm really looking forward to hearing the hits, but I was hoping that at least a few more obscure songs would be played. Where were the surprises?
Apart from that things sound very promising, and maybe by the time they hit Antwerp some other songs will have found their way onto the setlist.

I feel nauseous with envy..;-)
If they don't come to America, I may need some sort of psychiatric assistance!

Well it sounds like I was one of the lucky ones to get back last night and not this morning.
Firstly: It was a good show, not excellent and certainly not terrible...and let's face it not a wholly Queen show, this is meant to be different.
Secondly: The show needs to flow a bit more and Paul need to be on stage a whole lot more or the show structured so he doesn't appear/disappear after half a song like he did during Hammer. I suspect that this is due to 1) Paul not being overly familiar with the Queen back catalogue and 2) His voice just doesn't sound right on some of the tracks. His voice is suited to Free/BC stuff - it showed at Brixton.
Thirdly: In my opinion the show would have been better by cutting out some of the longish instrumental section and having a strong start with PR, perhaps acoustic section sans PR in the middle and then a strong rockier finish with PR. But then that would have made a tighter show but there were thousands in there who wanted to see Brian's solo. I know it's a work in progress!
Fourthly: I was amazed by how many people there were who were not that interested in the show, wasn't this for Queen and PR fans? I took my wife and she loved it, it being her first Queen concert. I'm sure something went sadly awry with the ticketing policy - I'm lucky to have won the ticketing lottery. Although, that said, the nosie inside was awesome in places.
Fifthly: The show was genuinely touching. A highlight for me was during Days of Our Lives. When the B&W footage of the band in Japan started and the camera panned on Freddie there was a massive cheer. Brian turned around and stared at the screen and turned back to the audience with a smile on his face. It was a genuinely touching tribute. I was already emotional prior to the gig after watching the Freddie biog on the Biography channel...this only added to it and Bo Rhap kind of finished me off...I wish everyone had the chance to see it.
Sixthly: highlights of the music:
TYMD - the only way possible to start the gig (by the way why the griping about track 13 being used at the start - IMO this was the perfect way to build up an atmosphere...although we had already heard that the band weren't due on til 9.45, and hadn't Brian lyric-checked Eminem on his last soapbox entry?). Paul is fantastic on this song, it suits his voice.
Little Bit of Love - Kept things rolling in a gentle bluesy way.
Break Free: First opportunity for the crowd to take over proceedings. Everyone on stage didn't seem to mind.
FBG: Stunning and again lends itself well to Mr Rodgers wonderfully strong rock vocals.
'39 - Probably the highlight of the night. Impromptu and the crowd took control. Brian seemed chuffed. Please make it available as a download!!!!
Love of My Life: Moving. Poignant. Wonderful.
Hammer: An opportunity missed. Paul needs to take this one from the start. I too thought I heard a little bit of It's LAte in there at the start...that would be one that may suit the new band.
Guitar solo: Very funny moment when Bri ends up back on top of Buck House.
Days of Our Lives: Again truly moving, especially the B&W footage. Perhaps is better suited being paired with LOML.
GA GA: Jury still out on this one. Its a crowd pleaser for sure. Rog should have vocals as its a bit twee for Paul's voice...but then you have to have the backing drum track. But then you can't not have it and miss out on the crowd participation. Amazing sight seeing 40+ year olds taking part in this like their lives depended on it! Yes, it still catches loads of people out...heh, heh.
Can't get enough....: Needed to be louder!
IILWMC: I love this song. Last saw Rog doing this with the Cross. One for the fans...thanks.
I want it all - a definite stand out on the night. Powerful. Perhaps it would suit Paul but Brian delivered an excelelnt performance both vocally and on lead guitar.
AKOM: A crowd pleaser. One of those I find difficult looking at PR sing. I

Well I'm glad you all had a fantastic time. Since it went so well I am cosidering going to the Dublin gig as well as the belfast one.
However, a few points:
- I'm not sure I like the sound of what they have done with Bohemian Rapsody. I think they might have been better leaving it out.
- The setlist looks good, and I am over the moon that In Love With My Car is in there. Only song that I really would have liked that isnt there is Under Pressure. Oh, and take Fat Bottomed Girls off the setlist. Never liked that bloody song.
- Eminem!?!?!What the hell were they thinking? I'd rather hear John Deacon armpit-fart "Body Language"!!
- Odd that there was no John in the days of our lives footage....don't know what to make of that. Don't want to make any Malina-ish (remember her?) analysis of it, so I'll say nothing.

hmmm... i'm really thinking about going to the Cologne gig as well... First i thought 5 gigs would be enough for me but after reading this and seeing some pictures i really got excited!
Thanks for all reviews and pictures!!

The Bo Rhap "Tribute" was superb. I wasn't sure about it when I heard the Rumours a few months back, but I have to say how tactful and respectable it was.
The Eminem thing was a bit surprising to say the least, it could have been worse.
At some stages I forget completely about Paul; Brian and Rog did well when they were called into singing duties.
'39 !!! Wow. Definitely the highlight along with "Love Of My Life". Freddie would be proud.

Agree with most of the reviews on here. I think PR should take on more vocal duties, that's what he's there for. Let Brian do LOML etc, and Roger TATDOOL, but get PR to do Hammer and IWIA etc, and let Rog drum - that's what he'd there for, and what a strong drum sound it was!
I agree that the guitar solo could be dropped in favour of other songs.
I like FBG - it rocks!
I thought BoRhap was done well. It should be in there, and I think this was a good way to do it. The only other way would be as part of a medley (i.e. the beginning and end parts sandwiched by other songs like in Hammersmith '75 etc).
All in all a great night, and am looking forward to comparing it with wembley and then hyde park!!!

Like many of you, I was at the Brixton gig. I think Roger, Brian, Jamie and Spike and the base player did brilliantly. The visuals were a great addition too. Brian was really enjoying it and he was a great focus point on stage. But I don't think they needed to have Paul Rogers there really. They could have done it all between them with maybe a few guest appearances. Paul Rogers just didn't do it for me. I didn't think he was that strong vocally. I am not saying he is not a good artist and I am not comparing him to Freddie. I am commenting on how I responded to and felt about Paul Rogers on stage. The show needed a stage performer who at all times is energetic, pulls in the crowd and keeps them moving. Of course Paul has taken on a hell of a challenge doing what he's doing but I felt the best bits of the concert were those bits where he wasn't on stage. I felt he lacked a stage presence, interaction with the audience, and he wasn’t really that strong a show man and performer.
It was great having Roger and Brian coming to the front of the stage to sing and it was nice to hear Brian talk to the audience. Things like that didn’t really happen. It was a shame all the band members weren’t introduced.
The set list was ok but it would have been nice to have heard less greatest hits during the show and for it to have been bit tighter in between the songs, without the silences. Wouldn't it have been nice to have seen Roger and Brian do something on stage together? Maybe as part of an acoustic set?
I did enjoy watching Brian, Roger, Spike and Jamie. Well done to them and best of luck on the rest of the tour as they did enjoy what they were doing which is important to see on stage.
But based on last night, I wouldn't pay to see another concert. For £55 I would expect to see more, see a better concert.
