Apart from the fact this song was written by Elton John especially for the death of the Princess in 1997 - I think Elvis may well have recorded the track twenty years earlier!

Actually, There is a wonderful book I was just reading at Borders Books & Music Easter Sunday called something like "The Billboard Book Of #1 Hits and The Stories Behind Them".

There are 2 pages in the year 1980 for "Another One Bites The Dust" and the story behind that w/ a photo of Queen.

But there is an even better page w/ a photo of Queen with the complete story and mini interview quotes from Freddie of how Freddie wrote and came up with the idea for "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", (while "languishing in the bathtub at the Munich Hilton he came up with the idea for the song. He "Freddie" leapt from the bath and wrote and played the song on his guitar and piano".)

or something like that as I remember, and even how Freddie and the band the very next day, went into the studio, arranged and recorded it, with Freddie playing guitar on record for the first time.

With more quotes from Freddie...saying he had recorded the song exactly "like the bath version. But then it's not typical of anything I do". (wink, wink)

Even better as the book continues on the same page, is a GREAT interview paragraph quote from Freddie, 5 Full years after he wrote "Crazy..." and his thoughts on the song then 5 full years later, where he expressed that he still loved the song, why, and the inspiration for the song.

He didn't - he had a song title similar though....can't remember the name.

Crazy little thing wasn't actually the first time Freddie had played guitar on record. The backwards guitar at the start of Ogre Battle was played by Fred.
