Anyway, i've lived on an island for the past 23 years.... :-P
And what a beautiful island you live in!!! FairyKing, I really hope you'll know very soon whether the concert is held or not. I understand it would be big trouble for you. Still you say you wouldn't be against postponing it. I admire you for that!
I don't know if it should be postponed or not...I'm sure the band will make the right choice. Soccer matches are not canceled so that might be a sign.

The only trouble for me is the travel thing. i'll take my ship in 2 hours...if i was in rome there'd be no problem. i'm not cinic...but it's a lotta money i could waste and also time.
if i was in rome or close to it, things would be very different to me.

FairyKing I understand you perfectly and I think the band knows it is a problem for many fans who come from far away, and will take that into account. I hadn't heard about sports events being canceled yet.
Good luck!
Ps. Love your signature...!

According to BM site (http://www.brianmay.com/queen/queennews/queennews.html):
Mr Jim Beach, Queen's Manager, was asked this morning whether the situation with the Pope would affect the Italian dates, and his view is that concerts will still go ahead. However, as he says, no-one knows what the government will do - they haven't had to deal with anything like this for 28 years...
BTW, All sporting events in Italy have been suspended this weekend.

Thank you so much....I'm so trouble for that!
Now he is dead.
Surely it should be up to the individual to decide what they want to do in the circumstances.
If the band decide not to play, they could rearrange the gig and offer refunds for those that can't attend the rearranged gig (a bugger for those that have to pay for travel & hotels that won't be refunded but that would be the groups choice.
If they decide to play and an individual decides not to go to the gig then that is their choice - they will lose out on what they have paid out already or pass the ticket on to someone else.

Fuck you ateists!Leave the Pope alone! In case you did not know,Italy has 90%+ catholics so it it is quite normal and expected if Queen cancell gig in Rome.God save the Queen and Pope!!!!!!_
I would imagine that Queen and their management will take it on advice regarding what the right and proper course of action is under these circumstances.
Brian, Roger & Paul (as well as the rest of the band) will have their own thoughts and feelings about what has happened to The Pontiff and I would fully expect that they will take a vote amongst themselves before going ahead with the show.
It will certainly only be a postponement - there will be far too many contract details to battle through if they were to actually cancel the show outright - it'll just be slotted in to the end of the tour I should imagine.
My thoughts and feelings go out to all Catholics at this sad time.

Wow! You really sound very intelligent and wise! Did you have to study long to gain this sort of wisdom?
If and when Queen do play Italy, do you guys suppose they should play NOBY as a tribute to the Pope?
Ehm... "Only the good die young"? Sounds bad to me : P.
What would you suggest they do then?
