Why don't you play Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #3?

So easy to play. ;-)

I am getting Bo Rhap along with some other stuff on cd played by some symphony orchestra. Yay! of course I've heard the brass version as well. Good luck with your recital - the more you do, the less nervous you'll be at the next one. At least, that's how it was for me.

Lol :D Never heard of Piano Concerto #3. Looked for it on www.music-scores.com but it wasn't there. Could play Gershwin, but I'd rather play more classical pieces. Gershwin is kinda contemperary :D

Oh my god... I had an honors piano recital last Thursday, but I had a complete nervous breakdown right before I was supposed to go, and I didn't end up going. Oy.

Good luck though!

Well, I'm afraid your definition of classical music is not generally accepted. Classical music is still made today. Don't forget about the likes of John Cage, they are (rightfully) considered to be classical music, the experimental brach of which is called (new) music.

By the way, Rachmaninov and Gershwin were in the same period.

Well, John Cage is considered classical, but he really didn't make too much music. :D Unless, ofcourse, you consider sitting a piano and playing nothing for over 3 minutes is music :D

Gershwin's music had lyrics in it, and the classical (what I consider it to be anyway) doesn't :D

About the recital - I did great :D I was going last, because they always saved the best for last. I made one small mistake but covered it up well. I recieved a lot of compliments after :D

I can also play that Ode To Joy (Beethoven's 9th Symphany) on the piano :D

Congrats!
I would love to hear your recital, but I can't download the file ("Acces denied"). Could you upload it to rapidshare, youshareit or something like that?

What do you mean? Are you joking?
There are tons of classical pieces with lyrics (including "Ode to joy" which you mentioned), but I guess you know that.
