As Roger was singing a few of the songs in front of the drums ie GaGa & Days Of Our Lives, it became obivous that they were using a backing track. They could have easily have had Josh McCrae play for these couple of songs surely seeing as he was there anyway as part of the crew. He's played them many a time already when touring with Roger.

If you read my post carefully you will see my use of RW over PR was to illustrate the point that in my so ever humble opinion, the ridiculous RW would have done a better job than PR.

Maybe I am in the minority of people who believe that PR must be laughing all the way to the bank, poorly singing these fabulous songs to sell out concerts, but I am in the majority of fans who went expecting to see a Queen show and expecting quality! FOR ME - the best parts of the show were when PR wasn't on stage

If you see Phil Collins live, he does exactly the same for some songs despite having a second 'live' drummer. I see nothing wrong with that.
Now I am NOT saying that PR was crap - far from it; he was excellent.
BUT, given that he was off stage for a fair portion off the gig, I did come away with the distinct feeling that they could have done the whole show without him. Would have taken a lot of rehearsing, but definitely possible. For instance, I would have been very happy to see an extended accoustic set. BM on that stool was etherial - he had the entire arena in the palm of his hand. Silmilarly, with an extra drummer, RT could have coped with more vocals, I feel.

I can see your point but put in an extra drummer and bring Roger out front more would take away from the Queen feel to the show. A Queen show needs Brians unique sound AND Rogers drumming style.

From the Internet cafe in Manchester: BRIAN had a few tears? . . . Thankfully, I was in the back and was able to fix the rivers of running mascara so I didn't look any stranger than usual!
Great gig. Brian was on fire, totally hot, and in fine form . . . oh, and he played well too! ;-) Ha! Watch out, cause "Tie Yer Mother" RAGED! Brian's still got it, and got it good! Good energy! He's still got the moves on stage and is really having a great time with this. Talks and sings a lot more than in the old days. It was nice to see the Red Special again. For me, it's been a long long time. Thanks Brian, you're the best!
Loved that Roger hopped out from behind the kit and treated us to a few songs and talked a bit. He is the coolest and still exudes that signature "Roger Taylor" charm. And, by the way, he can still slam the skins, but good! Played with great enthusiasm and energy, still defying the space/time continuum by reaching out and grabbing the cymbal before you actually hear him hit it. This has been puzzling science geeks for years! ;-) Bravo, Rog!
Paul was great. The audience really got going for "Feel Like Makin' Love" and "Alright Now," and by that I mean the AUDIENCE REALLY GOT GOING! Very nice voice, and I heard no lingering effects of the "Bad Throat Fairy." Terrific, Paul!
Spike, Danny, and Jamie were great. Spike was off to one side, and wasn't always easy to see, but Danny and Jamie were obviously having a great time and all three make solid contributions! Nice work, gentlemen!
The more spiritual among us saw the spirit of Freddie fly over the Metro Radio Arena before the gig in the form of a beautiful white crane, not to be confused with the mysterious helicopter that flew over and landed nearby shortly before the doors to the arena opened. Was worried that if Brian were aboard the horizontal rotor might have given him a bit of a trim, yielding the new Brian May flat top! Perhaps not! ;-)
Will write a proper review of Newcastle and Manchester after tonight's gig.
A very special thanks to wonderful friends Jen and Frank who gave me a lift back to Manchester last night to save me from a late and long train ride back from Newcastle. They claimed it was "on the way," but I suspect it was more "out of the way." Thank you so much! Also special thanks to Russell Sneddon from Scotland for making sure I got a ticket to the gig. We were phoning each other like a couple of teenagers with status/location/progress reports all day. Thanks for introducing me to your friends Russell! You were all a lot of fun.

Memory must be failing me . . . I said they did "Feel Like Making Love" but now realize they didn't. Sorry! Four hours of sleep in the last 3 days!

I don't think Brian May is pissed off by the camcorders... Brian May likes bootlegs. He is also a Queen collector.
In 1998 he said: "I hope some of you guys are bootlegging this shit.." during a concert.
Apparently the guy who was video taping used his camera light. I can imagine that the light is very annoying. It's Brian's good right to say something about that...
I honestly don't believe that Brian's comment had something to do whith tapers in general. There's nothing wrong with taping or even videotaping as long as you make sure the camera light is off (you don't need it anyway) and don't SELL the bootlegs!
Most people who collect bootlegs are die hard fans who have every single piece of official material (in more versions) and don't sell bootlegs. Brian May knows this.
