Brian's true Queen sound

Hello,
To acheive Brian May's true Queen electric Guitar Sound, Are these all the Ingredients I need:
. Red Special Copy
. VOX Brian May Special (Deaky amp)
. Treble Booster
. Sixpence
. Gifted Talent
Unfortunately, I can't afford a VOX AC30, so will this setup sound the same?

Some talent would be fine too I guess... ;-)

The Deacy amp has the treble booser in it that always applies to itself and can be used to drive another amp as well. So you don't need a treble booser. But the lack of AC-30 will affect your Brian May tone, as the Deacy is the Deacy, not an AC-30. For cheaper AC-30 solutions, look into Vox Valvetronix products. I have a Valvetronix amp and am very satisfied with my Brian May AC-30 tone.

Yeah, that, and maybe...uh...the Red Special? Yeah, that might be kinda useful in attaining the "true Queen sound."

You know, the more I record the deacy amp, the more I'm convinced that I don't need to bother with ever getting a Vox AC30.

I also have a V-amp Pro set (roughly) to the AC30 emulation sound and that plugs into my Vox Cambridge 30 Reverb Twin amp. And that seems to work for the 'other' sound he has. These days, we're getting spoiled with technological marvels. It's not that hard to get similar tones now. That V-amp setting seems to drive a sound out of my Vox amp that sounds very lush. [V-amp owners - remember to remove cabinet simulation as this messes up the sound]

I'm a bit confused about Brian's amps. Did he use just the Deacy for recording and the only used AC-30s live or did he have the Deacy driving the AC-30s in the studio??

The Deacy was a specialist sound that went behind many guitar orchestrations and (very rarely) lead sounds. While his main amped sound is from the 3 AC30 amps in the studio. Remember, he has a separate treble booster unit to drive these things.

I sure I read in all the blurb when the Vox Brian May came out that the Deacy was used on "almost all" of his studio recordings.. ah well

just to name a few. I think it sounds great on solos and orchestrations. But it sucks when you want to play rythm. It's definatly not made for rythm guitar

So i Do need a Vox Valveetronix or some other Vox amp? or will the Deacy amp just do?

Listen buddy; I have a badly neglected Fender strat at the moment. It's frets have huge ruts in them, the pickup switch and the tone knob have both been misplaced. At the moment (I'm kinda poor) I have 5 strings.
But I tell you, I can still get that 'Queen' sound. It's all about how you play it dude, the guitar don't mean buggery. Besides there are plenty of effects you can get just by buying yourself a XOOM or whatnot.

Ok I'm not Brian May and I'm not as 'good' as him, but I still think if you want something that resembles his kind of music, it's not about the equipment you're using.

It's crap, I know but I showed it to a guy and the first thing he said was 'nice May sound'. So you get my drift, it's not the instrument it's just your style. I've listened to George Harrison and Brian May and guys like that, so my playing style has naturally been influenced by them.
