Thats not true, you can play Brian may STYLE on a Strat, or even on an My First Guitar. But you cant get the exact sound if you don't have the same guitar and amps and boosters.
You can get close with a strat or a gibson in sound, but it will never be the same. Style and Sound are not the same thing.

Just thought I'd say Hi. Well, Im done now.
I had 2 AC30s and sold them both when I bought my Deacy amp. I now have 3 Deacy amps hooked up in stereo being driven by a rangemaster treble booster, the sound is very close to the cranked AC30 sound if you have a mess about.
It wasnt until I got The Deacy that I also noticed how often Brian used it. It is used for the Guitar solo on a hell of a lot of songs especially the violin-like tones eg Dont Stop Me Now.

Actually with practice it's not impossible to be able to play Brian's stuff by any means (way easy than trying to learn Satriani for example). It's the thinking up the parts in the first place that makes him so talented.
So if all you're trying to do is play existing Queen songs then you don't *need* to be as talented as Brian

OK, first of all, the small Valvetronix amps do not have the AC-30 model. They have the AC-30 TB, but that's not what you want if you're going for Brian's sound.
The Vox Deacy has the treble booster built in.

Johnny, who says the Dillon is the Best Version ?
No, I meant there are two versions of the Dillion Red Special the DMB04 and the VMb04, I meant the best Dillion copy out of those two, I think it's the DMB04
Hooah, I didn't realise this topic was about the 'exact' sound and not approximations. Sorry.
Isn't the AC30 black and gold (or brass), not black & silver?
I wouldn't want young Johnny to miss a crucial detail....
