DVD-AUDIO?????

It's a shame that DVDA and SACD formats aren't catching on with the masses and inferior formats like mp3 are (cos they're 'free'!!) , which are a big backwards step from Vinyly and CD-PCM (which was never that great in the first palce) in terms of quality

Yet the masses acknowledge the quality in DVD Video ???

Don't people appreciate listening to high quality music anymore??

People mostly listen to crappy music nowadays (Robbie anyone? Kings of Leon and about 1000 bands that sound exactly the same...? Kylie? J Lo? R'n'B?) so who cares about the quality...? But I agree- mp3 being that popular and DVD-A not... Something is seriously wrong...

Absolutely. One of the things that the current generation of Pop, Hip-Hop and R n B have done, is give us a very loud, compressed and lifeless sound. I'm not saying it's all like that. But if you listen to a pop band from the 70's and then one from this decade, you'll hear that things are pushed really loud and less dynamics are present.

It's pretty worrying. But like my teacher says, that's what the next generation of engineers are for. To do what we think is right. I know I'd like to get things back to how we know they should be.

More on the Dvd-a stuff... These Queen discs are great. I'm sure we all agree! I'll be happy when ADATR comes out. Though, when?
