Ultimately, I think the Dark Side is just an alternate idea placed into the minds of people, and they are just led there of their own accord, allowing them to be there ebcuase of their own anger for certain things. I say this, becuase in the end, it is Anakin's own insecurities and such that lead him to the Dark Side, just with a slight nudge from the Emporer. Except, the Emporer just kind of puts ideas into his head, like I say, and makes Anakin draw his own conclusions. For example, thinking Obi-Wan and Padmé betrayed him on Mustafar, being told that he killed Padmé etc rather than he just turned evil and that was that.
Have you been able to see it yet Arlene?

Did anyone else notice that when Padme was pregnant her belly would keep growing and shrinking between scenes? And why did she still look pregnant when she was dead?
In all I tried not to expect too much from it and I was pleasantly surprised...it wasn't the greatest of all the movies but it finished things off nicely despite all the plot holes previously mentioned. I enjoyed Anakin being dismembered and burnt :-)
But I wish George Lucas had let someone else write it. As Harrison Ford said, "George, you can type this shit, but you can't speak it." Do you blame Anakin from turning to the Dark Side when he was constantly called Annie?

That was done intentionally.. it was to keep the Sith from knowing that the children were born, in case there was a spy there... and remember.. Anakin never died, so they wanted to keep it looking like she died before childbirth, you have to remember, this is a culture different than our own.. maybe they do not embalm their dead, maybe they have different ways of burying their dead.. who knows.. :P
That's why the Empire Strikes Back was possibly the best and stood out the most - he got someone to "sript it" for him. A sci-fi writer called Lea Bracket (sp?). Also, when she wrote it, she was suffering from terminal cancer, which is basically the reason why the film was so dark, becuase it reflected the moods that she was feeling at the time.
Anyway... most royalty are buried in temples, much like Egyptian pharaohs. Padmé would have been buried with other Queens etc, or possibly with family. And like you said, they made it look like she died with the babies because they had to make sure no-one found out that she had children, not least the Empire/the Sith.

Lawrence Kasdan also collaborated on the script for Emire Strikes Back as well and of course the great Irvin Kirshner directed it and brought out the best in all of the actors, dialogue, the script, story, etc.
I just read ..speaking of Empire Strikes Back...the UK magazine Empire's Cover Story on Sith with Interviews with Lucas,, the entire cast, crew. It is excellent. I still am waiting to see it. I actually called 2 movie theaters last night, and they are sold out (prob. due to the holiday weekend as it is memorial day here in the USA and all the kiddies are on holiday off from school)..so I will try and hold out til next week.
This is driving me nuts I want to see it so bad...even though I already know the whole story now...I don;t care. It appears to be a brilliant film, the best of the 6 films with the exception of Empire and I want to see it!!!! NOW!!!!
I will have to be strong and "use the force". :)
Well, we'll keep our mouths shut as much as we can concerning plot until you've seen it.
Ideally, you wanna see it somewhere where you can reserve seats, so you don't get stuck in the front row (like me and my slow lazy friends who took ages to leave the pub before hand lol).
