I myself did sell bootlegs in the past and I still do that sometimes, although only very very scarcely these days (average would be 5 sold CD's per month) and for marginal prices, compared to Trancer's. So I'm not the one who could blame Trancer for selling bootlegs.
But he's not a fan, he's a dealer, a businessman who earns a lot of money on stupidity of people. I even bought two bootlegs from him in 1997 - my two most expensive bootleg CD-R's I ever had :-)
... and I also don't understand why Queen Productions ignore him...

I bought 3 from him in 2003...Milton Keynes 1982 (then incomplete before the official release), Copenhagen 1978 & New Jersey 1982. Like Mr.Scully, these were expensive boots (I paid about £42 inc. p&p) - but the sound quality was excellent ! Obviously now I can trade and download from QZ there's no need to go back...
I agree with Martin.
I think most of us at some point sold or bought a bootleg.
I bought a bootleg from Trancer a long time ago (in 1998 i think) to start swapping concerts)
I sold all my silverpressed bootlegs + trancers home made bootleg a few months ago (in total about 6 shows)
Simply because i'm not interested in having silverpressed bootlegs anymore. It's the music that counts. That's why i only collect concerts... not silverpressed bootlegs
Trancer is indeed making a bussiness out of selling home made cd-r bootlegs with other people's recordings. That's very wrong.
I hope some real rare stuff (like Drammen 1982) will never be online. Trading is the only way to get those rare shows!!! Otherwise rats like Trancer are going to sell the rare recordings!

You are just using Trancers as an excuse not share, and to preserve the trading clique.
How many fools are there that buy from trancers and his kind? I bet it is miniscule compared to the sharing on the QueenHub and on QueenZone. Some traders focus on Trancers and his ilk rather than foucsing on the big picture and the joy that could be brought by sharing with others.
I realize, that a lot of "rare" stuff has been "leaked" or shared the last fews years (starting with Monkberry?), and I am grateful, but there always seems to be some sort of backlash from someone in the trading community whenever something is leaked or is threatened to be leaked.
Oh well, there are not too many concert jewels left that are must haves anymore.
What is it about Drammen anyway? There are at least a dozen 1982 concerts in very good or better quality with similar set lists. I just do not see what is so special about that concert.
Perhaps if we as a collective group brought Trancer's illegal website to the attention of Brian via his website('s e-mail address), then he can get his lawyers to get the ISP providing the hosting service for queencollector.com to shut down and delete the website, since he IS selling official material. That's the only possible solution I could think of, cos Trancer will just ignore our e-mails otherwise.

It's one of the best Hot Space-gigs, it's the only concert held in Norway in Queen's career and only a few people have it. That makes it so rare and so everybody wants it.
Totaly agree with Rip Van Winkle, we have a lot of boots from 1982, and if that gig was he only concert held in Norway in Queen's career, it doesn´t mean that is a rarity, well to me of course, it´s only a gig more...
And soon or later will be online to download...FM+MJ tracks were rarities, The Mirtacle Demos were ratities, Hot Space Demos were rarities.....etc etc etc...

why noone tells the real name of 'Trancer'?
He is: JAMES MORAN from Katty, Texas

Why don't you tell us your own name, queenmagicvision? You are a seller, too.

...And let's not forget that 'Liar' was included in the setlist that night! The only time in this era that they played it; 11 (eleven!) minutes long and WHAT a rendition!!

No, Liar was played during several early HS shows, Zürich or Frankfurt for example. But in Oslo it´s on a very unusual place in the setlist after BoRhap and before AOBTD. Also this show seems to have a guitar solo unlike most other early HS shows.

Liar @ Frankfurt 1982 rules ! takes me back to the Osaka 04/04/1976 boot I own...
Trancer is a twat... he's got my recording of Roger Taylor live at Gloucester 99 (very rare recording) for sale on his site.....[/QUOTE]
If it is a rare recording how did he get it?
He downloads it here :o)
This is exactly the reason why people SHOULD share these shows. If no one will share them then people like me will be tempted to buy them thus supporting the sellers.
