Rare Live isn't very enjoyable, but it can give you some info about the quality of some bootleg videos, including rarities, like Houston. So it's worth more as a "guide" for collectors than as a tape to watch with your friends on the weekend while having a drink and eating sadwiches.
Bollocks featuring bullshit

It is all "remasterd" by DoRo. If you get a normal copy of Sao Paulo the quality is less (I got a version wich is better than rare live. The circulating copy's of Houston and Knebworth are also less just like Earls Court. It's no guide, it's no entertainment, it's not facanating. The only thing you learn is "How can I screw 60 minutes of tape".
If you mean the ones that are floating around on the internet, yes you are right.
But not ALL circulating copy's of Houston and Earls Court are 'less'! Especially the latter one has some PRISTINE versions!
Just depends on your sources and/or how long you have been 'in the trading game'.

Nevertheless: Rare Live is a load of bollocks indeed. It does not tell you anything about the quality of bootleg video's that are circulating either.

And Queen has the mastertapes. The most collectors have copies only.
That's why everybody's so excited about the Hyde Park broadcast this friday. ]

-------
Also keep in mind that Rare Live was compiled YEARS ago in a time when QP did not yet have the same sources as they have now.
Queen did NOT have all the mastertapes. Queen STILL does not have ALL the mastertapes.
Btw: Hyde Park will be broadcast in audio, not video.
I am not talking bout "less" in like horrible. I mean like the copy I got is VG quality. and I think the Rare Live one is Ex-
That's what I said! :)
I was not talking about "less" like horrible either. When I say 'pristine' I mean Ex- or at least VG++.

It's obvious, right, that people that got -for instance- Earls Court 15 years ago got a much much better quality version because they have a much higher generation. There once was a copy that came straight from the master.
Wish I had the excellent one :D

Look around. It's not THAT hard to get. Knowing that the first generation copy, straight from the master, first found a home in OUR country!
I know for a fact that especially in Holland there are copies of THAT copy all over the place ;-)

I've got a copy of the copy, yes.

It's Fort Worth 1977. (10.12.1977)

It's directed by Bob Harris.

And indeed, it's very rare. I heard some snippets are used for documentaries.

Do you have that on dvd transferred from vhs?

The svcd's are pretty good and the Silver Stallion dvd isn't too bad but a vhs to dvd version of your copy sounds even better.

Yes you´re absolutly right! The filming of the Fort Worth concert in 1977 was meant to be a "warm-up" for the following Houston show...

...but unfortunately the camera guys forgot to put any films into their cameras! :-)
