I really don't see the fuss. It's not your song anyway.

Although we have different opinion, this is actually right. It is NOT our song. In fact we're supposed NOT to have it! If anybody has it, it's a mistake/theft/leak from the archives. Ethically, this shouldn't be spread at all.

They only want to hoard rare things because it gives 'em power. If all of a sudden everybody had an mp3 of "Face it Alone", they wouldn't be able to hold it over your head.

Oh really? :-) Do you think we use rare stuff to boost our egos? Maybe some people do. Most don't.

Took me ages to do a simple re-edit of I Want It All, but I shared it anyway?

But that was your free decision, nobody forced you, right? Quite a difference.

Well...

...

... ok, there's absolutely no reason anybody who has this mp3 (or any other) to share it. Unless offered something in return.

HOWEVER - there's absolutely no reason for them to hang on to it either. It is immaterial that it's an illegal thing to have (because they have it already) so why not throw it around more?

You are right in saying that most people probably don't 'hold it over our heads' to gain power of some sort, but it really can feel that way.
I'm not interested in trading at all, because I'm just a fan of Queen. I don't wake up in the morning and say 'oh I know, I'll throw away money I SHOULD be spending on food to listen to a low quality 10 minute mp3 that everyone says is boring'.
And I'm not even that desperate to hear it - but when someone says to me 'hey this is good' or 'hey this sucks', I generally want to form my own opinion on it without having to have some rare Queen item of my own to share in the first place.
I'm not Greg Brooks, I don't have John Deacon singing "Somebody to Love" - does that somehow mean I'm not fit to hear a cruddy mp3 of an unfinished song from 1990?

Well there is one reason - to trade it for other rarities :-) It's a never-ending circle... you must have track A to get track B and track B to get track C. This will never end.

If somebody shares it, it's OK. As long as he doesn't have to break a promise or steal the track or something like that.

Theoretically, I should be on your side - as I myself am curious to hear this track - but I can see the background so I understand both sides.

Heh it's kind of antithetical to hold onto this as something worth trading. Everyone who's heard it in this thread calls it 'boring'.

If it's so 'boring', then they're shooting themselves in the foot when it comes time to trade stuff, no? They SHOULD be shouting 'this is the next Bohemian Rhapsody, it's fifteen minutes long, there's a vocal overdub section with 255 voices in it, John Deacon has a bass oddysey towards the end followed by an intimate jazz session with Freddie singing away his feelings about AIDS'.

Now that would get people trading for it. But if people who want to hold onto it describe it as a 'boring instrumental', then they're setting up a double standard, kind of like this:
This mp3 sucks. It's bad. But - I want to hold onto it so I can swap for something heaps better.

I just don't get it. Someone upload the damn thing to prevent people being duped! :P

Many of us, I think, have heard this song on a convention and DON'T HAVE IT, I don't have, and other don't know if have!

"Everyone who's heard it in this thread calls it 'boring'"

And how many of them (1.) have it, how many of them (2.) have heard it on the Convention and (3.) how many of them are only joking? C'mon... :-) 90% of people here are in the third group and at least 9% in the second group :-)

And when it comes to trading, people usually don't care about the quality of song. They care about how rare the song is - for 90% of traders AND non-traders this is most important :-) The 2-min. silent Buffalo 1978 video is a nice example :-)

Heheh, actually I was referring to the one or two that both have it and have heard it. I basically think it's silly behaviour to say 'I'll only trade this for serious offers' in the same post as saying 'it sucks'.

Any odds of this being released in a box set this century? That is, if no one uploads it?

Screw this discussion!

If anyone wants to sidestep the bullshit and send me a link - zebonka at hotmail dot com

Feel free to abuse me as well and call me a leecher. I just want to end my curiosity for this 'boring instrumental'.

Funny message given by members of the "community": Give me something worthy to swap for, or "face it alone". --- Radical interpretation of the religious texts.

I search this song evereyday in the hub, but no-one shares it..I don't understand..!

I'll save you a read, I think I can compound all the posts (including mine) into one word:

Bullshit.

Trading Proposal: Open to anyone willing to trade "Face it alone": I will provide a moving and personalized poem in exchange of the song.
If preferred, I may also organize a pizza delivery to your home on satudray night.
Alternatively, I could visit your grandmother at tea-time (i will bring home-made biscuits)to discuss the weather and, possibly, margareth tatcher.
(If "Two Worlds Apart" is included in the deal, you will be gracefully provided with an application form for your local "communist watch" scheme).

anyone interested, please get in touch ASAP
Thank You

This is a great thread. It could've been 2 posts - "Can I have it?" and "No". Hahah.

Some things aren´t as simple as they may look!!! ;-)

BTW, just go to the Fan Mixes-section... there are lots of songs quite as boring...

Ok if you really want to have a serious answer.

I have it, and i won't upload it. And you can only get it from me if you have a serious offer. And no, the song isn't that good

I got some video material from Buffalo to offer. Fancy a trade? :P
