What were the best moments of the tour for you? Was there something special you will not forget soon? Or do you think it was all a waste of time and money?
here are my favourite memories
- The QZ meeting before Brixton and the excitement standing in the Academy and waiting for the first Queen concert of this century.
- meeting Penetration_Guru and Jeroen
- Having my home full of bootleggers before and after Frankfurt, what a great group of people:)
- meeting Riku
- the preshow and aftershow meetings in Cologne, finally enough time and opportunity to chat with people from 7 countries.
- making new real life friends with fans I only knew from the internet before and meeting old friends again.
The whole four concerts I saw and never getting tired of it. Watching the band grow together from a nervous bunch of musicians to a great band of people who seemed to enjoy the show and each other's company.
What I don't care to remember
- the Brixton lottery. I think Martin, Fenderek and me were the only people on the planet who did not win :)
- the Cologne SMS hoax.
- my correspondence with bb productions concerning the security bullies in German venues.

- the incredibly stupid Brixton lottery (looking back, I'm not surprised it was a total failure). In the end I wasted my money = got one spare unused ticket :-(
- thirst - only in a few venues you could get drinks without having to go away and lose your standing position. Only Munich was great in this aspect and I think they were giving away some free water in Prague and Budapest too.
- the tight security - but luckily we (bootleggers) are professionals :)
- waiting for the band after the gig in Munich (with no success) - I caught a really bad cold and thought I'd die in Prague/Leipzig :-) Managed to cure it only after more than a month :-(

Just being at my first evere queen concert! front row basically infront of the cat walk, great view! Loved it completely! also loved all the hundereds of fans i spoke to while i was waiting for the show to start! one thing i wont forget is when PR pointed at me during allright now! pointed and gave the thumbs up, i wont forget that!

Well, I only managed to attend two shows: Stockholm and Hyde Park. But here are my thoughts.
I HATED that they missed Finland again. But then again, I had a really good time with other Finnish Queen fans on the Helsinki-Stockholm-Helsinki cruiser. Believe me, it was a blast.
LOVED to see Brian & Roger (=Queen, if you will) live for the first time. Front row on Jamie's/Danny's/Spike's side at the Globe Arena. Dream come true!!!
LOVED Paul Rodgers. He was waaayyy better than I ever could have dreamed of. Exellent singer and a great showman. Also, Free/BC songs fitted in the set very well.
The setlist was a compromise. A couple of old gems from ANATO, but mostly the greatest hits package.
LOVED the fact that Bri and Rog also had their intimate moments with audience. Brian's '39 and Roger's TATDOOL were simply GREAT.
LOVED Imagine.

TYMD in Arnhem, the first time Brian's standing so close to me... right in front of me... 3 metres... beautiful. Tears were in my eyes I can tell you. I'll never forget that. That was the moment I had been waiting for nearly 8 years or so.

A bit overdue, but here's my thoughts...
First of all, I need to say that the first half year of 2005 has been a total blast I never expected to experience. Ever since december 11th last year it's been nothing but excitement.
The wonderfull moments from that first weekend in Brixton up to the final show in Arnhem have been countless. Musically, but maybe most of all because of the great atmosphere at all the shows and pre- and afterparty's.
From the beginning I've been almost equally excited about meeting all those people I've known for years but never met in real life (or only see once a year max).
Thanks to Barbara and Martin for their kind words. I can't say any different then that the feeling was mutual!!
But Martin; 'always in a good mood'?? ME??? LOL! ;-) You should see me on an average day at work! And surely you remember my mood after the Brixton show?
Which brings me to one of my personal downers of the tour: the Brixton show and all things around it. The ridiciolous lottery, my personal encounter with Ticketmaster about that show and all the nerves I had to stand untill only few days before the show.
The days we spent in London where an absolute highlight - Visiting Abbey Road studio's, seeing the stage being built the day before the concert, having an unexpected dinner (and lots of wine) with one Freddie-related person (thanks again Basje! ;-), the very first Queenzone meeting.
But the show itsself, I still feel, was a disaster. The gruelling intro, not fluent setlist, the images with Radio GaGa and all the other forced WWRY-The Musical elements. But most of all the musically below-standard performance. The sound of an unrehearsed band, and especially Brian performing so bad it no longer was in balance with my feelings of seeing them together for the first time in years n years. During AKOM I even thought about going outside to smoke a fag... I've truly been a bit depressed for a couple of days after the show...
Also because I had to write a review about this show for the Dutch press agency. I felt realy bad about HAVING to write a not realy positive story...
I wanted to give the boys a second chance in Milano, but I truly feared for a while that I would feel forced to sell all tickets to the eight other shows - for my own well feeling...
But then came MILANO!
Meeting Leonardo and Willy again, and also Luca, Giorgio, Daniela, Stefano and all other Italian fans. The atmosphere at the Italian shows was nothing less but amazing. Totally unheard off in other countries. These guys give there all and already hours and hours before the show the singing and chanting was deafening. A very impressive 1 minute silence for the pope and then the show: what a gigantic relief it was for me to hear that the boys where playing A LOT better.
Everything fell into place during the shows in Italy. When we arrived to Frankfurt, we all thought it was the best show we could wish for. Not knowing that it would become even BETTER!
Antwerpen, Rotterdam... to name the best two; Awesome shows and everyting was totally right.
Dortmund? Well... not our greatest moment... Seated rockconcerts SUCK! Especially when you have had to pay the highest ticketprice of any of the shows (80 blasphemous euro's!) and it turns out to be one of the least good shows (except for Brixton). Fact that we got unnessecerely harassed by the security (twice - for two different reasons) did not add to our enjoyment of the show. The only night of the tour I'll probably forget in time ;-)
The final two shows in Cologne and Arnhem were amazing. Especially Cologne will go down in history as one of the best days of my life. Having heard basically all of the shows of the tour (except 2 ;-) I can honestly say that this was probably the best show of the whole tour.
And despite the rain the atmosphere was out of this world. Great moments also at the pre- and afterparty's!!

I never thought I'll feel anything like this... I became a devoted Dream Theater fan because apart from loving their music I also wanted a band that TOURS, I wanted to feel this rush of date announcments, this feeling of "I HAVE TO BE THERE!". I didn't expect to see Queen...
When they palyed with Paul on TV I thought- that's brilliant... I suddenly forgave them all Blobbie Williams and 5ive collaborations and thought- "Man, finally they got it right". I remember when I told my lady "I wish they toured". I thought taht was wishfull thinking...
And they announced it... It was UNBELIAVABLE. I already knew I HAD TO BE THERE! Not just one show- as many as possible. It may naever happen again... I also knew it was going to be good- always was a Paul Rodgers fan :)
And than it came- the dates. First thing I did I bought UK gigs, deciding only not to go to Newcastle (regret now :) ) and praying taht I'm going to win the lottery...
Oh yes- lottery. Remember? It was a total disaster YET I remember it with some sort of weird nostalgia... Maybe because 2 days before the show I still wasn't going, was just reading all those threads about pre-show meetings and suddenly- they started giving tickets away to everybody! Living only one tube station from Brixton Academy I bought them not thinking twice- and there I was!
Meeting was amazing- met so many ppl whom I knew from the board- Martin, jeroen, Barb, P_G, Mcm, eggy... It was really special. And than after few beers we went to the venue...
Intro was...a wful... Track 13... Than Eminem... Back than I hated it and 25 minutes of big nothing didn't help... Than after Reaching Out the courtain fell down and we saw stage and heard Tie Your Mother Down... I must say taht this moment I'll remember FOREVER! That was THE moment when the dreams became reality. It WAS happening...
As jeroen said- the gig wasn't very good. I liked few bits- I'm In Love With My Car, Feel Like Makin' Love, TYMD, and my fav- SEAGULL... Well- I didn't suspect that it wa first and last time I'm hearing that song... '39 which wasn't even suppose to be on the setlist was also a nice thing... But it almost seemed like a dress rehearsal, not gig... Well
Than I had a month of reading- ppl were writting about the gigs in Italy, Holland, Germany, Spain... And I was waiting :) Hearing that every single gig was light years better than Brixton... The stlist was changing slightly, Paul had voice problems and all I was doing was praying taht he'll be fine by the time they reach UK...
I gave Newcastle a miss but the very next day I wa in Manchester. Of course there was a meeting and few really nice ppl I met- Crazy Little Thing, man on the prowl and his lady and quite few ppl who never had anything to do with QZ :) Hard Rock Cafe even played few Queen tracks :) Than the gig- and it really was AMAZING! The audience was HOT, the gig was great... And hey- they palyed Under Pressure for the first time! It was also the first time I've heard Say it's Not true and Wishing Well- and I loved it...
After Manchester there were Birmingham and Cradiff, a night at the coach station in Birmingham, hotel lobby meeting, few bloody Mary's with crazy Little Thing and meeting headlong24 and his brother and our Australian friend... And the gig exactly in front of the catwalk... when Brian run towards us to play TYMD slide solo... Man, I could see every single scratch on his guitar... What a moment... Night in Cardiff, very drunk Cardiff.. An dthan Sheffield, when paul gave one of his best performances on tour, absolutely PERFECT... The only bad thing was the audience- folks who couldn't recognise I'm In Love With My Car and were alive only during radio Ga-Ga or WWRY- I'm sure though the camera will focus on thsoe few crazy ones like me who were air drumming and pogoing all the way :)
