If you decide on going to 'only' one US show, better make sure you join me in Detroit, Fenderek!!
If they'll go there to begin with, that is...

I probably wouldn't care that much were as it's as expensive- well, it'd have to be the Eastern Coast I guess... So why not Detroit? (it's closer to London than bloody LA or Frisco... even though I'd love to go there as well... And who knows- maybe they'll play Chicago AS WELL? I could see two :) They're not that far apart, are they? And than visit Bob in Canada :)

How come you guys want to see them in Detroit? Does it have a special meaning for you?
It is about a 6 hour drive from Detroit to Chicago. If they come to Cincinnati you BOTH BETTER BE HERE. I'll leave it at that. You know what they say about American girls being psycho right? You'll find out first hand if you don't come to Cincinnati if there is a gig here!!!
;)
Well, to me I want to see them in Detroit because that's where my best friend went to live a couple of years ago.
I'm going to visit her next year anyway and because I probably cannot affort to go to the US twice in a year, I'm waiting for a (hopefully) more extensive tour (with date in Detroit) to book my flight...

How I wish I could be posting in this topic with my own memories... my memories to this point consist of watching and listening to bootlegs.
October 16th... my time will come. 73 more days!
And no, seated concerts don't suck. I'll be in the third row, standing the entire time. If the people in the 4th and 5th rows don't like it, then they can stand too. I'm paying for that seat, and I can do whatever I want in it. Maybe I'll jump into the pit, if possible!
Jeroen, I'm looking forward to meeting you and Fenderek next year. I'll try to make as many concerts as possible within 1000 km of me.

well Jeroen, if you go to Detroit I'll join ya, ... I'm going there in april myself ... I did an internship there once, and I'm going to visit my old friends over there
HighLights
- Going to London, seeing the musical
- Queenzone pre-meeting, meeting Jeroen, Mr. Scully, Barbara, Fenderek, etc...
- The long, long wait at Brixton whilst meeting two queenzoners who flew over from fucking Australia, just for the opening (damn)
- Sing Kyle's mom is a bitch with Jeroen
- Falling curtain and TYMD. Fenderek, you are right, that was THE moment of my life (for now that is)
- ROTTERDAM!!!!: what an outstanding performance
- Standing only a couple of meters away of my two idols Brian and Roger
- The beertenders in R'dam (but that's another story)
- Meeting Eric and Marleen again in the row at the Ahoy in Rotterdam, and Eric a-gain in Arnhem.
- Getting out of the Gelredome, damn it was hot in that damn hole.
Negative side:
- TicketMaster still owes me money
- The identical setlists.
- They are releasing Sheffield, instead of Ahoy (boy should they have taped that one) or Hyde Park. (maybe some bonus-stuff, but it's probably useless)
- The lack of Freddie songs, and post AKOM songs. What did we here from the Miracle, Innuendo and Made In Heaven album? Nothing .. only songs they already performed live after Freddie's passing (TATDOOL, TSMGO, IWIA).
Other highlights;
- Seeing Brian Wilson for the first time live as well in Belgium and in Amsterdam
- Attending all the home games of PSV in the Champions League and reaching the half-finales.
- What a year ... this cannot be topped, ... unless I win a couple of million euros next year

Hmmm.. i really want to contribute to this topic. I tried to write down my memories about the 2005 tour. Didn't succeed 2 times... (too much text;-)
I will try to keep it short:
Things I loved:
-meeting all you guys in real life after and before the shows. That was such a great part of this tour! I really enjoyed that! Jeroen, Basje, Martin, Kim, Luca, Leonardo, Willy, Freddie and Noor, Martin, Barbara and Klaus, Beeny, Grahame, Jessica, Thorsten, Miklos, Michelle and all the other ones I forget. Thanks a lot!! It was great!
- The 6 shows I saw them at offcourse.
- Frankfurt will be the most special concert for me. It was my first Queen + PR concert. Because of the "Wo Ist Das Kamera?!" we could FULLY enjoy the show. Also meeting Paul Rodgers was fantastic!
-The camera adventures... (although sometimes it was hard.. bootlegging is addictive...;-)) Great new hobby...
-Meeting Paul Rodgers and seeing drunk band members.... Fuckin' fab.. never thought I would be that much impressed by someone saying "Cheers" to me;-) LOL
-The rain during the show in Cologne. Nice part when Paul sings a bit of "Singing In The Rain".. although some one fucked it up by singing along ;-)))
-The party time with Willy, Leonardo and Jeroen at Jeroen's place.. It felt like a perfect vacation to me! See you soon in Italy Leo and Willy!!
-The food;-) Haha... eating junkfood and drinking beer for 6 days. Great!
-Wishing Well. Great song! I think Paul is a great singer! I'm very thankfull that he does this tour with Brian and Roger.. without him there wouldn't have been a tour I think.
-The "I'm On A Permanent Vacation" feeling I had for about 4 months. Surrealistic.
Less positive points..
-The use of backing tapes during some songs.
-The WWRY cast in Cologne.. fuck off.. I hate that freakin' musical!
-Some security people. (a big fuck you to you!)
-Being lovesick.
-Missing Freddie Mercury. Every concert i realised how much I miss Freddie. After the Frankfurt concert I cried because of that and because of the fact that i realised that this is probably the last Queen related tour. The Dream Is Over.
-The setlist. Wish they variated more.
I've probably forgotten a lot... The past months have just been fantastic! Incredible!
Hope to see them again sometime...

What I loved;
- the opening of Reaching Out/TYMD
- the combination of old and new; I'm In Love, FBG together with Show and These Are The Days
- the combination of PR and Queen songs
- Paul is a great frontman and I really hope that he stays for a couple of years with Brian&Rog!
- Freddie isn't forgotten but it isn't a tribute concert too
- the big audiance at the summerconcerts
What I kinda hated;
- 2 guitarsolo's is overdone
- the lack of Miracle/Innuendo/Heaven songs
- The first couple of songs at a Queen-concert are always big rocking songs. But now they start mystical with Reaching Out which is cool .. then TYMD comes in .. which is awesome .. and then Break Free .. which is sooo lame :S
- Break Free and Magic don't work with Paul's voice
- Now I'm Here wasn't there :( .. okay; maybe it's too much for Roger now he's in his fifties .. but they could at least do Headlong; that songs works wonderfull live, it's not that hard for Rog and they've their second real rocksong besides TYMD.
So.. the band it self is great .. maybe at the end of the european tour they where from time to time even beter than the original Queen; thanks to Jaime, the sound of the band is much .. well .. it sounds like they are with almost 10 men or something :P
But the setlist is not that great; they didn't take too much risks, and we've heard it all before; why no Headlong, Heaven For Everyone, Innuendo, Miracle, Breakthru .. even some tributebands put some of those songs in their setlist :S

After/in/before which song did Paul sing a bit of "Singing In The Rain"? I haven't noticed... and I can't seem to find it on the recording either.
what I like most about the shows is that I value the concerts of Queen even more then I did before
I agree with YourValentine, the concerts gave the possibility to meet people, have a wonderful time for and afterwards and that is worth much more then the tickets indeed.
I loved the shows I was at, it was great and sufficient

"Singing In The Rain" was only one line after "Feel Like Making Love" right before Brian played the beginning of Now I'm Here. Don't I have a good memory:)
