They played it on BBC 6 this morning at 12.15am
You can hear it on the BBC 6 website.
It is exactly the same as the album cut, no new vocal or guitar work, and fades out with the intro of FHLI like on the album.
That said, it is remixed slightly I'm sure, and sounds clearer.

I don't think so. I think it is exactly the same as the album cut.
No, I think it is ~slightly~ remixed.
Thanks for that. Shame it's only 96kb download.
Anyone record it off-air on digital?
Did they play Nevermore?

From memory only Ogre Battle and White Queen are on there. May be wrong though. I like the way the DJ says it was recorded in 1984. Clueless!
I know many of the people here could put high quality versions up here, but they get a little snotty about it being 'official'. You can tell it has undergone some remixing because little bits of (albeit hard to pick out) guitar amp and string noise are left in, and taken away from the released version, although they are the same performances.

Well. This particular mix has NEVER been officially released, so I don't see why a high quality version couldn't be posted if anyone has one.
But you see, it IS different.
Same performance as album sure, but different panning on the instruments and the ~noises~ left in as I said.
Whether it needs posting in great quality is another matter!
This is a good companion thread to the Buffalo one. MOTBQ BBC is rare, but apparently we all have it!

Oh shit, all that crap again?!
I have found my long lost twin!

Oh sh*t!!! I was going to say EXACTLY the same, Richard!
yeah, but these 'repeats' come 'round more often than Fawlty Towers on UKGoldTV....and you gotta love it...high quality conversation and a deja-vu sense of going mad but not being completely sure

Including the 'twin' bit?
John S Stuart to thread! Stat!

Where were you when John and Richard have discussed about it through the days?
Unless I'm mistaken, Greg Brooks DID say there WERE some differences in the mix itself.
"In essence, this recording of Black Queen sounds more like a remix of the original version, rather than a new session take"

Yes- the same Greg who ahving access to Queen archives and apparently owning the bootleg as well of golders Green still claims in his newly updated book that Queen played Keep Yourself alive, Hangman and Stone Cold Crazy that night... I would really be careful with believing everything Greg says... He gave us many interesting facts over the years (Freedom Train being a queen tack at innuendo session for instance) but also made many mistakes (his book is the best example) and... I sometimes have a feeling taht when he's not sure about something (and he is too proud to admit that)- hge just makes up something. So he wrote BBC version of Black queen is different. In the beforementioned article (I have it) he claims there are vocal ad-libs not present on the album cut. And it's just pure bollocks... Either he's deaf or just wrote something for the sake of it (couldn't come up with anything else, didn't know the band supplied the original mix, just was too lazy to cross- check- just like with the book)...
