the Gods are similer in both greek and roman mythology, but while the greeks lets their Gods sit on mnt olympus, the romans lets their Gods be named after the planets
ie..zues (jupiter)
aries (mars)
aphridiete (venus)
ect........
ps sorry for any mistakes in my spelling, not to good with the names
RUBBISH!!!! grrrrrrrr........ i hate it when people do that...
right, let's get the facts straight... the first ones to name planets after their gods were the babylonians, the greeks basically took that habit and renamed the planets after their gods... the babylonian marduk, for example, was turned into the greek zeus, which in turn has been turned into the roman jupiter, which is why that planet is still called that way nowadays...
so, the romans did not call the gods after the planets, they called the PLANETS AFTER THE GODS...
get your facts right, mate, and don't mess with an archaeoastronomer :P
