Although I think that some Harry Potter fans take their fanatism way too far, I have to say that the whole Harry Potter story is a very well contructed tale full of surprises.

Star Trek on the other hand has no fuckin' plot whatsoever. Trekkies need to get laid as much as Paris Hilton needs to get bitch slapped.

don't particularly have time for Trek either - but it DID have aplot - early on, the Kirk crew's exploits started off as a Russia/USA cold war thing of federation vs klingons i believe
