Now, I'm not a music critic of any kind, so I really don't know what I'm talking about when I say this, but...

...what an amazing talent you have. This composition (I refuse to call it a song because it transcends that generalization and is much more realized than your typical three-chord wonder) will be stuck in my head for quite some time. Really good keyboard and drum work. You should be proud.

Lester said it perfectly, but this piece is amazing. I downloaded it and I'll definitely be listening to it again. It just brings me back somewhere and that's kind of how I judge music. It's got a great tone, and it's one of those pieces of music where you can really tell how much feeling went into it. I wish I had your talent!
Resistance is futile. You are now an orb.

This is fantastic Dan. It's got a great moody feel and I echo what others have said..

When I hear this, I picture a California beach, late in the evening. A young girl is swimming alone, bumps her head on something and begins to drown. On the beach, an off-duty lifeguard is having a casual stroll with his latest girlfriend when suddenly he notices the distress in the water. Quickly, he strips off his shirt and runs in slow-motion to her rescue...

And this brave lifegaurd is none other than David Hasselhoff....

Ah, Jeff! I was HOPING for a 'Baywatch' comment! I'm on AIM at the moment, Drop me a line! And thank you Lester and Gunpowder Gelatine for taking the time to listen to the track and give me some feedback. I'm very happy that you like it!
To everyone else, LISTEN!

Not bad at all, Dan. Quite cinematic if you like. The first 40 seconds put me in mind of the movie "The Warriors" as it has that kind of style - not that I am accusing you of a direct rip off (I'm not!!)

Cheers,

Dave.

I'm glad that those that have commented have liked the track! If I ever get a chance to record the vocal (and find someone to do some guitar work) I will come back to the track and polish it. Until then, This is as done as it will be. Thanks again for the kind words! There's no sense in making music if people don't listen to it.

To all those interested (the VERY few of you), I have added some guitar bits (just long chords) to the chorus parts of the song. To listen to it, follow the same link as above. I hope you like it! It's not drastically different, It's just a TAD more complete. I can't wait to get the chance to record the vocal...

My computer doesn't want to download it. :(

Could someone who has help me out, I'd love to hear it. Sounds like it's a crowd pleaser ;)

Nice and subtle guitar work there Dan. Cant wait for the vocals.

Victoria, if I can get permission from Dan (it is his song after all) I will upload it to either Rapidshare or yousendit for you, ok?

i enjoyed listening to the piece of music too.

there seem to be alot of people in bands here, maybe there should be somewhere set aside for their original music [or is there and i haven't seen it???????]
