Casper, I was referring to the DEMO version - which the poster couldn't make out the bit after "best years of my life"
look at the end of matt z's post - he clearly says "demo", which is what i assumed tomchristie22 was referring to. - because the "alternative line to supernova" is just audible...have a listen t the demo, you'll see i heard it right
Yeah, I'm not so sure. I have the demo, and it seems to me that the lyrics are identical but get smothered a little.

and there's definitely no "supernova" in there
no way is the last line "perpetual craze" (as per the album) 1,000,000% it's a repeat of "i'm in pretty good shape".

Oh. I was referring to the one that was leaked from a convention. I always thought that that version must have predated the song PARTY which may have been an afterthought.

Yeah - he definitely doesn't sing 'supernova' on that demo. 'In no way over' sounds right.
I always thought he said 'Who said that my body was all over?' even on the final version. It says 'party' in the booklet, but sounds more like body. Body also makes more sense with the next line 'I'm in pretty good shape'.

firstly, it was a 7+ year old long-dead thread revived by matt z.
secondly, he mentioned the miracle demos in the last line of his post.
conversation isn't rigid. and surely it's good to find a new avenue if it's related to the subject at hand.
Nice revival Mattz. and as per your comments re: losing someone to terminal illness - yes I too understand exactly what you mean. profound loss is (ahem) profound. my father and brother died more than five years ago...and every day i miss them more. The pain doesn't disappear - you just get used to feeling it.

But as for this. I think it was primarily Freddie who was dodging the conversation and was the impetus for the transcendent MIRACLE which praised miracles great and small. ..so much as to possibly come from a yearning or thought tangent on the terminal situation.
The lyrics mention doctors...

Test tube babies being born, mothers, fathers dead and gone.
It really is a "swell" (leave it to beaver lingo) song
