I'm just boiling over at being told I have no life, Queen are shite and I should try listening to rap, hip-hop and R&B. Please reassure me!
I know I shouldn't react angrily to these comments but I hate being told what music to listen to. Aren't we supposed to respect each other's opinions? I've done a pretty good job so far of respecting this person's opinion on her type of music - but I can't control my fury when she can't respect mine.
I'm proud to be a Queen fan and I'll love them till my dying day but I don't think I'll be able to withstand constant peer pressure.

When I was in high school, I was the only person walking around in Queen t-shirts.. That's fer damn sure..;-)
I'm the most diehard Queen fan at school and at work, so I get a lot of comments that Queen - and classic rock in general - is garbage.
To that, I respond, "Wow. I never knew I was working with/at school with The God Of All Music."

Don't sweat it! People have been pulling that one with me since I was about 5! But twenty years on, the music still wins as far as I'm concerned. Be yourself, don't bow to peer pressure and dare to be different!

i always get slated for liking queen. some tossers who even like the legends metallica, judas priest, thin lizzy etc will do anything to degrade me like singing 'dont stop me now' or just saying queen are shit, they have no talent and thier songs suck ass.

People are going to remember bands like queen and led zeppelin for years yet. Nobody's going to care about some tosser called Eminem in 20 years.
Just remind them that Queen is still breaking records for thier music such as top dvd sales,longest running musical,Bo Rap most popular rock song, Freddie best rock singer,etc. Millions of fans cant be wrong!!
Ignore them! People think im a "loser" for liking Queen at such an age, but then I think to myself, what will the bands my friends like be doing in 20 years time! Will they even be remembered?! NO!

No one dares to call me a foul name bc I love Queen's music. Infact, no one within striking distance of me dare call me anything I don't want to be called!! If someone ever said that I was a loser for listening to Queen I think I would die laughing. Anyone that would say that obviously has no appreciation for good music that is written and composed by the actual artist(s). There are not too many bands that can claim this and that is flat out sad. This is real rock and roll, classic. You can't ask for anything more in a song.

So far, and I have said this before, I must be fortunate, because I am 44 and I cannot think of anyone ever ragging on my liking Queen in any way.
The only thing I HAVE encountered, is unfortunately alot of people in my age group, who actually do NOT know who Queen are. Sad.
But...if anyone were to rag on Queen, I'd tell them to GET BENT! and then go on to tell them why and how Queen is one of the most talented, landmark, influential, legendary bands in music and in history and in popular culture and their impact and influence on so many other music artists to this very day! :-)
