Same here. Everyone else had their Pearl Jam and Garth Brooks shirts on, while I had my Queen and Kiss shirts.
One funny thing I'll never forget is when I had my Queen shirt on with The Miracle album cover on the front and this kid came up to me and said, "Cool shirt....which one paints the star on their eye??"...LMAO

unfortunately though, it didn't go down too well with the principal and we got into big trouble. but after all, as a queen fan, i feel it is my duty to defend the honor of the band in situations like that, agreed?

I live in holland, and if i see topics on this website about 'my friends laugh at my because i like queen' makes me wonder if Holland is the only civilized part of the world. I never heard any one laugh at me because I like Queen, or other 60's,70's music. And i never been called gay.
i always get slated for liking queen. some tossers who even like the legends metallica, judas priest, thin lizzy etc will do anything to degrade me like singing 'dont stop me now' or just saying queen are shit, they have no talent and thier songs suck ass.
It's kind of funny because groups like Metallica and other afore mentioned were influenced by Queen. Infact, I'm quite sure most bands today were in some way or another influenced by Queen and I always have to laugh when someone says they hate Queen but they like *whoever* and I know for a fact that that particular group is admittidly influenced by Queen.
I suppose they're kind of like Led Zeppelin in that respect. Almost every band since then has, in one way or another, been influenced and inspired by them. They're just that amazing.
as far as i'm concerned Queen are very popular and the people that hate them are in a minority. I mean even today Queen were voted the second greatest band of all time ( in London ) and Bo Rhap the best song ( once again in Loondon ). What i'm trying to say is to these people say " why does a sit band have the most ever weeks in the charts of any artist in the UK ?"

i'm awlays being called a person who only cares about queen, called a loser. oh well. i am in elemantary school, i'm the only one who knows about good music. Ha Ha, i've actually been called a queen by some kids who don't know what a queen really is. Just igore her or any small minded idiots :>)
When I was in high school, nobody really understood what Queen are, one of the BIGGEST bands in History. They liked those bands that will never be remebered for something really interesting. They used to call me Queen in a very sarcastic way , so I used to say Fuck U all music fools!!!!
Now I am 25 and they seem to have learned that Queen are the BEST. At least they show their respects to Freddie, so you know, QUEEN ALWAYS WINS!!!!
i have a friend just like youve described she goes on about how fantastically brilliant eminem is and so on she makes me listen to them and although i don't enjoy it whatso ever i always be polite and kind about it but at trying numerous efforts to get her to listen to the greatest band of all time i get a very rude NO she calls them and freddie in particular all the names under the sun which hurts i agree why can't people just respect other's opinions?
