I like the shows with Paul Rodgers playing Queen Songs, I like the idea of Brian, Roger and paul making new records. BUT "Queen is Jhon Deacon, Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor and Brian May. The rest is, of course, other history".

All people that post here are great queen-fans and they are of course really big freddie-fans.They don't want the world to forget about him, because he's the best. Most of us agree upon this point.I think some fear that the world might forget freddie though and that some people will say:paul rodgers is better. It's that fear that makes them say bad things about paul altough he IS a great singer and performer and he does justice do the queen-songs in his own way.Not many people can pull that off I think.I really have a huge amount of respect for aswell roger and brian as paul because they just give the fans what they want and they show a lot of admiration for freddie and always say that it is a whole lot different now. They just make great music for great people like us:-)And i always feel freddie is there!!!

I think Paul Rogers does a fantastic job on the songs. Now I'll say up front when I first heard that Paul Rogers was gonna be singing, I just put my head down, and wwent oh dear, oh no. I downloaded a show from the new tour, played the hell out of it, and slowly my mind began to change. The one fact I am having a hard time getting past, is Paul's bluse ffeel that he aadds to the music. Brian and Roger say they love it, but iI wish it were just straight ahead rock vocals.

What I worry about, and you American queen fans might want to start thinking about this, is how the new line up is going to be perceived in Noarth America. I hate to say it, but I suspect overall they won't be received well, and when that happens, I don't think you'll see them over here again. Any thoughts anyone?

John Deacon doesn't count. As good a bass player as he was, he's a bedwetter. Retire? Hah! My real admiration goes out to rock and roll stars who are up on stage until they drop dead

First of all, John Deacon does count as a member of Queen. He was there for the whole thing. I suppose you have admiration for the Rolling Stones? Ok, maybe admiration is warranted, if you admire the desire to make a lot of money pumping out the same garbage for 40 years. No offense to the Stones fans out there, it's just my opinion that I share with most everyone that I know.

Secondly, I agree that they shouldn't be Queen. It's like when Jerry Garcia died. The band goes on, but they are called The Dead. It's not The Grateful Dead anymore. With that said, I havn't heard any of Paul Rogers yet. I intend to find something to download. As I was watching the tribute, it was really touching to hear all these artists play with the band in honor of Freddie, but one artist stood out. I felt this guy would be a suitable replacement if that's the way they were heading. That guy was George Michaels.

DEAR, WHEN QUEEN BEGAN TO LIVE, THE STYLE OF THAT MUSIC WAS CONNECTED WITH A PRECISE CONCEPT OF MUSICAL AND DETAILED BEHAVIOUR. QUEEN STYLE IS THE RISULT OF A PERSONAL AND TRADITIONAL OPINION OF BRITISH WAY OF LIFE. QUEEN WAS EXACTLY TYPICAL ENGLISH.
PAUL RODGER SEEM TO BRING THEM TO OTHER ROADS.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF THEY CHANGED THE NAME IN
"COWS". THAT'S PERFECT TO DEFINE ANOTHER MUSICAL STYLE, WHICH BRIAN MAY AND ROGER TAYLOR NOW ARE GOING TO SAIL....YOU'RE SAILING THESE NEW AMERICAN SEAS.

Freddie is dead (you might have seen something in the papers)- 'Jhon' has chosen not to join in - do you want Brian & Roger to give up too ?

There have been many downloads available on here - try listening to one of those - as you were watching the tribute you've had a long time to think about it.

By the way, get Michael's name right, your's is the same literature(?)-wise

George Michael would be a great Freddie replacement - but I don't think George Michael would be a great replacement for Freddie in Queen - Queen is a band, George Michael is a solo artist.

Ok, so I got his name wrong. He's not my favorite artist in the world. Wham was far from what I considered good music. In my post, also mentioned that the band shouldn't be called Queen anymore. What makes Paul Rodgers any different from George "Michael"? It's just not Queen to me without Freddie and John.

As far as not hearing any of Paul Rodgers yet goes, I had been listening to Queen since 78. When Freddie passed on, so did the band, in my mind. To be honest with you, I didn't even know that Brian and Roger went on to making more music. Before you flame me for this, the internet is somewhat of a new thing since Freddie died. I haven't been using it to keep up with my lost love for Queen until this past week.

NOBODY WANTS ROGER AND BRIAN TO GIVE UP, OBVIOUSLY.....IT'S UP TO WHAT THEY PROPOSE TO AUDIENCE.....SINCE FRED DIED THEY SEEM TO DECLARE A REAL LACK OF CREATIVENESS....THAT'S ALL

Hi, I don't think everyone hates Paul Rogers, Just that it's taking some time to get used to anyone singing in freddie's place.(well who could replace Freddie? NO ONE!!!!) but all said I think Paul's doing a fine job. I've seen the show 5 times already, Starting at Brixton & ending (so far) at Hyde Park & I think his singing voice is getting better each time as he is getting more comfortable with the Queen Songs. No problem with his own songs as he knows the off by heart.
Now the thing is, would Brian & Roger have taken on such a tour with out a lead singer? alright, we all now Brian & Roger have done their solo tours, but nothing as grand as this, I would say. Wake up guys, although it's hard for me to say, Freddie's not coming back :(
The question is, Should I have sat at home moping about how great freddie was, or go to the gigs, enjoy myself, have real great time & enjoy it for what it is. WELL 5 TIMES TO THE SHOW ALREADY, SAYS IT ALL!!!!!!!

I don't want to go and see the Rolling Stones, no more, no more, I don't want to go and see Queen, no more, no more, (Not!!!! I'll always be there!!!)
Joyful the sound

Brian and Roger are the 2 original members of the band. They virtually set up Queen between them (with Freddie replacing Tim Staffel and John being the last to join).

Freddie is no longer with us and so is unable to perform. John chooses not to perform. Brian and Roger want to continue. And why not?

They achieved a lot of success under the "Queen" name, and I see no reason for them not to continue using it.

Paul Rogers is something of an experiment. Maybe Queen will continue with him, maybe not. Will be interesting to see what develops!

Truth is that NOONE can replace Freddie because there can be only one. Paul is just singing some Queen songs that need to be played. I´m from Spain and my only chance to see Queen on stage was last april the 1st, in Madrid. I'm thankful to them because of that. I think that Paul does justice to those songs, and Queen + Paul Rodgers lets all of us remember how big Freddie was.
I don't like Paul Rodgers specially but I must admit that I enjoyed the show. Call the new band the way you want but Queen are FREDDIE MERCURY, JOHN DEACON, BRIAN MAY & ROGER TAYLOR.

THE SHOW MUST GO ON
