Do you really think that part of liberating Iraq means to bomb innocent people and then coming up with the sad excuse that it was meant to be a military target.
What would you have done? Left Saddam in power and waited until he died comfortably of old age without ever being brought to justice?
That's war for you my friend, and lots of innocent people die. Would you be happy to be "liberated" when your loved ones have lost their lives in the crossfire?
At least I wouldn't have to be afraid of being raped and murdered by Saddam's sons.
Seriously, you really need to be in a war zone to understand how horrible it is to live every single day with the constant fear that this might be your last or if you will ever see those close to you ever again.
When Saddam was in power, they felt the same way! At least now, there is hope, and the chance for a brighter tomorrow! Before, there was nothing but death!
Of course, you lack so much maturity when it comes to understanding what is like to be in a war when you make a post as idiotic as saying that a victim of war like Nicholas Berg is sexy.
He is! Would you like me to lie and say he isn't? I'm sure he wouldn't mind being called sexy. Better than people rehashing the finer details of that disgusting video.
For God's sake we're talking about a man who was decapitated and his gruesome death was witnessed by millions,
It wasn't witnessed by ME. No way no how am I watching that shit.
and not Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom or Johnny Depp.
If Brad Pitt was beheaded, he'd still have been Brad Pitt, wouldn't he?
Of course for you who are now sitting in front of a computer with no worries of being shot or bombed, it's so cool to talk about war like if it's fun to just go to a country and "kick some ass".
NROTC. Starting next year when I'm in college. I'm not in it to "kick some ass", I'm going to fight for freedom and democracy.
The reality is far worse than you imagine, and if all news reports and stories are not enough to help you realize that war is a horrible thing, then I feel sorry for you. I really hope one day you're mature enough to understand that.
Of course war is a horrible thing! Duh! But war is necessarily when it defeats a greater evil! The Civil War defeated slavery, even if that wasn't its major cause, World War II defeated the Nazi regimes, and this war will defeat the Middle-Eastern dictators. Just because war is horrible does not mean we should twiddle our thumbs and say, "oh, that's unfortunate" while far greater evil is occurring. There should be no peace without freedom.
