I do not believe everything the Bush administration says. For instance, Bush does not want to legalize marijuana, I think they should.
Besides, you've contradicted and made up fake facts just to stick to defending the Bush administration. You say you're pro gay rights, when the Bush administration wants to ammend the constitution to make gay marriage illegal everywhere in the country, and most Republicans agree. Then you came up with some load of bullshit saying that it wasn't so, and the Democrats were the ones who didn't want the States to vote on gay marriage.
Democrats want the COURTS to decide to legalize gay marriage, because it most likely would not pass legalislatively. A lot of Republicans want a Federal Marriage Amendment so that the courts cannot use this issue to boost their power and do more Terri Schiavo shit. Then there are the people who just like things the way they are. They don't have anything against gay people, they just don't think marriage should be changed. Other people don't want the tax laws to change if gay marriage occurs. They feel that then everyone will be getting married to whoever just to get tax breaks, when the purpose of the tax breaks is supposed to be for children, whom if adoption and stepparenting is excepted, gay people cannot have.
