Well, I'm a hardcore fan and I'm totally pleased with their 2005 setlist. Well, of course I'd hacve liked to hear some "obscure" material, but I'm just happy with what they gave to the audience. As long as it was well done (and it was). I love their big hits, they're my favourite songs. I would be pretty disappointed if I'd go to a Queen show and I wouldn't hear A Kind Of Magic or Radio Ga Ga. We may be sick and tired of their big hits, but, let's face it, their greatest hits are indeed their best songs (gonna hate me for reminding that to you, don't you? :P)

Wow, then I think taste indeed IS something very personal, as Bob already mentioned earlier.
But I think it's strange that Metallica can get away with playing "obscure" stuff. Why can't Queen? Could it be that Queen has a "radio-listening" audience, while Metallica fans (or metal in general) listen to albums?

Yeah like other bands (Metallica for example) Queen should have played three/five big hits every nigh throughout the tour and fill the rest of the concerts up with album tracks (25-30 rotating).

your forgetting one thing, like the rest of the know it alls on this board. metallica had a half dozen top 40 hits, when queen played wembly in 86 they had between 30 and 40 top 40's. again it doesn't take a genious to figure out why queen had a tougher time pulling that off, but then again, this is queenzone, asking people to use some common sense is way to much to ask. duh, why do queen play so many hits, duh. i wish i could be as smart as the rest of you queenzoners.

Even if that would be true, and they only were to play the hits, then why not vary. I mean, they had the same bloody setlist every show (yeah yeah, I know they had some one-off covers).
Metallica may have less hits, at least they dare to skip songs as Enter Sandman, One, Nothing Else Matters. I mean, this band is known for those few songs, people come to see these songs. Skipping them is therefor a risky business. Queen didn't skip WATC/WWRY, TYMD or Bohemian Rhapsody once. Sure they're great songs, but to keep things interesting for the fans, it's nice to see a change every now and then.

Neh, I'm not that much of a fan of them. I'm just more openminded than the average Queen fan I guess.
I could tell the same story for Iron Maiden. Doing a tour at the moment playing only songs from their first 4 albums. Imagine Queen would do that instead of the Magic tour.
