I've been a Queen fan 31 years and know my stuff, I was only trying to help someone with a query.
The query was "There's a photo of Freddie on his death bed" and according to the photo the captions says "The last photo of Freddie, August 91"

I don't see the harm. Ok. It's on the nose and not very pleasant. But - he's dead. He's either in oblivion, and therefore thinks nothing about anything because he doesn't exist, or - he's in some kind of afterlife and far too busy being there to give a flying flip about whether or not some dude on the internet wants to see him in a state of poor health.
At the time, this sort of concern was relevant. A man's privacy was being assaulted when he should've been allowed to die in peace. But that struggle is over, the guy has been dead for fourteen years. It does not matter anymore.
August 1991... I regrettably came across that one on the BBC site. Not nice. Still could've been worse though. He could've been mooning the camera.

Everybody calm down! Its just curiousity. I watch things about Freddie dying over and over again, not because I'm sick or mean, because I want to mourn him and I guess I want Freddie to see that I care a lot. Its not rude, its just...I don't know, you can't really explain it. Please don't be mad at me. :-(

I dont see it as a problem. I had the same curiosity. I wanted to know everything about him up to the point where he died, and i would look at every picture of him. If he wanted a picture of him getting a autopsy, that would be a little sick, but the last picture of Freddie Mercury is a treasured item. I would kill to own it. Its history, the last time the most brilliant man ever was captured for the world to see.

You've probably SEEN the last picture of Freddie, if you've trawled the pictures section of this site. There's some paparazzi stuff in there - awful it may be, but I'm only trying to answer your question without biting your head off.
Also, to get technical - depending on the faith of a given cadaver, autopsy photos aren't an option. Take George Harrison. Soon as he quit breathing full time, they bagged him, cremated him and trucked him off to India. As I understand it, they didn't stop for photo opportunities at the morgue.
There you have it. I don't think Freddie was done and dusted quite so quickly, but all the same I don't think they bothered morticianicising him, or taking photos for that matter.
I actually remember a REALLY good debate on this topic, at this very site. Some guy was asking for Freddie Mercury's last photo, and this guy was ragging on him ceaselessly... so someone else wandered in and said there were two ridiculous extreme sides to this argument.
One was the side that thought Freddie was a God and that looking at him while he was sick was a crime.
The other side (and this is my favourite, I laughed so hard I nearly threw up) was:
"This guy wants to see autopsy photos, he wants to see photos of John Deacon crying at the funeral".
Maybe I'm a sadist, but that last bit just makes me fucking laugh my nuts off.
Look, you've also got to understand, this is Freddie Mercury. Even in his extremely weakened state, he was a firebrand. I reckon if you walked up to him with a camera in those last days, he would've had you shot, even if your name was Jim Hutton. Is it so hard to understand that there *is* no deathbed photo? Who would take one? Why?
It also wasn't a murder, technically speaking, so there's no need for a crime scene photo to be taken... basically, what you were asking for does not exist.
To bring this back to some sort of point : yes, quite a few photos were taken towards the end of Fred going around town etcetera. They're on the site. Go get 'em.

just to clear something up..i never wanted autopsy photos :S i dont know where that came up. I just heard about a deathbed photo some guy snapped and I was interested in seeing it or any pic of him in his later days..not to be sick..when I see pics of him like that it makes me sad but i want to cause im interested..anyways yeah thanks you guys.
Actually, if I mentioned autopsy photos, it was either in reference to something someone else said, or simply quoting that other guy. Heh.
