I notice something about Freddie, is that he was really happy and smiling most of the time in his performance. It doesn't mean that he wasn't happy in others concerts. But i can't explain it... In LIVE AID, especially; he looked really happy

I don't know if you guys understand what i'm trying to say?

Well I think Jim Hutton would tell you (if memory serves) that they had just really gotten their relationship on track at that time. That might be part of it. Jim was there watching him.

Plus as things progressed, I'm sure Freddie realized how excellent the performance was going.. the crowd was responding and interacting with him beautifully.

that's right. For a moment i thought the same thing. Around 1985-1986 Jim Hutton was with him in all concerts, presentations, including in the studio.

thanks again

Lymi-

Jim Hutton was standing just off stage, and it was the first time Jim had ever seen Freddie live.

This is 100% factual.

Jim had spent the previous night with Freddie at Garden Lodge... when the limo pulled up, Freddie was running around Garden like a mad man asking everyone if he looked more hot in a red tank top, or a white..

Jim said, "why, whats going on??"

Freddie said "Were going to Live Aid!!"

At the beginning of Live Aid when Princess Diana and Prince Charles are seated you can see Brian and Roger sitting behind them and I think talking to Elton John, where was Freddie and John, or am I just not seeing them?

^ I read once that John was too nervous to meet Princess Di and sent his roadie to do it instead.
Resistance is futile. You are now an orb.

Well i didn't know about Jim thing. That's interesting, now i understand. I have to say that Freddie looked amazing. Also he was really happy to see the love of his life watching him. That's really sweet!!!. Now i admire Freddie more, he really showed his happiness and feelings to everyone in stage. We felt the magic that day and each time we see the video.

About the coke thing, i don't know if that was true, but if you guys said that were documents that confirms it. it's okay, it's done.

Thanks for the reply by the way!!! :)

Cocaine, Jim Hutton, who knows...

My guess as to why he was so great and looked happy is simple and obvious. Freddie was a great performer who loved large audiences. He craved the stadium shows and was the king and winning stadium crowds. I imagine that Freddie walked on to the Live Aide stage with it in his mind that he was facing the 50 thousand or so in the audience, plus the 50 million or so watching on T.V. at home. Live Aid was probably a rush like no other for Freddie's stage life, and so he likely used the adrenaline to burst out smiling on stage, ready to put the other bands to shame(which he did).

P.S. I was always a bit bummed that Brian May never got to have a moment all to himself like Freddie did on stage that day. It was nice to see Brian finally get one of his own two years ago when he got to play God Save The Queen on the Palace in England. Roger's next!
