He was old, and he was a manipulative bastard who was the ruin of an already damaged justice system.
Dying at 80 is not bad, very many better people died much younger.
He was NOT a "bastard", he was a very kind-hearted, good man. You should be ashamed of yourself for speaking ill of the dead.
Of course in some people's books there's no R.I.P for all the thousands of victims of Hurricaine Katrina.
Just because someone's poor, young, black, or unknown doesn't mean they deserve to be treated less than some who is old, rich, white, and famous. After all, we all know that if New Orleans was predominantly white and wealthy Bush would have sent the National Guard even before the hurricaine started.
And you would have been bitching if he HAD sent in the National Guard. Bush is hardly sitting there going "well, are these white people or black people?" He is weighing out options and doing the best he can. Bush is hardly a classist racist, Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice both grew up in poor black areas, and in Secretary Rice's case a poor black SOUTHERN area (Alabama, which is VERY close to the hurricaine-hit area.)

He wasn't only one 'a very kind-hearted, good man' on the Earth! Why should we need to know if he's dead or alive?! Most of the QZers have not got any clue who he was! Should I post topics on QZ about our Russian 'a very kind-hearted, good' governors, members of Parliament, about lives of pets of our President?
I also had absolutely no idea who he was but there was a short notice about him in our national newspaper a few days ago so I read it to educate myself... they didn't praise him, they wrote he was VERY conservative (for death sentence, against abortion etc.). So his death doesn't sound like a big loss for the world or even for the US justice.

Even Bush himself has admitted that the response of the government was "unacceptable". If it makes you feel better I have a tiny bit more respect for someone who actually admits when he's wrong.
Everytime some Republican politician dies, we have SaraJane posting a thread. It doesn't take a wiseman to realize that fans of a rock band with a flamboyant singer don't give a flying fuck if some politician they've never heard of dies.
Does any remember when Leppar only posted messages about Def Leppard, and David Lee Rocks only posted about Van Halen, David Lee Roth, and how much he thinks Sammy Haggar sucks? Well, although I know many of us were getting tired of those posts, at least there are many of us here who are familiar with Def Leppard and Van Halen. Unlike the GOP, those were topics that were kinda worth discussing.
I'm sure there's plenty of Republican and conservative message boards on the web. Ever thought of rather spending your time posting there instead of here, SaraJane?
