Why are you so desperate to move to the US? If it's because you have an idealised idea of what life there is like I think you'll find you're sadly mistaken.
I think you're damn lucky to be living in the UK myself.
Why don't you think about going for a holiday before you make that kind of decision?

I'd love to go to the US, you would need a canny bit money to go live there. At least 100-200k.
Cheaper to live here than the UK, though..much cheaper, especially here in S.C...
We pay just about the most for everything, 20 cigarettes here is like £5 a packet. Your petrol/gas is way cheaper as well.
5 pounds a pack?? Good grief! I would hate to know what a carton would cost.. Good reason for people to quit smoking..:-)
