Yeah, my Chow is definitely like that! But she's so sweet...I hate that Chows get such bad reputations when the two I've had have been sweet from the start. Dakota tries to befriend anyone who rings the doorbell! (She even once tried to run off with the UPS man...)

I don't know why Chows get such a bad rap. A while ago we were walking my girlfriends dogs to the park and we came across this lady who had a black Chow. We then asked her if the Chow didn't mind being petted by starngers, and she told us to go ahead because he liked being petted by anyone. We talked to her about how Chows have a bad reputation of being aggressive with other animals as well as strangers, but she said that as long as you raise your Chow in a good way where he can socialize with people and other dogs then they can grow to be really sweet and gentle dogs.
