The first hald of Lifeblood was great, the rest was a bit shit. I also thought the mixing of the album misses some much needed ambience (Empty Souls being an exception). When they did Lamacq Live the ambience was there and songs such as Song For Departure and To Repel Ghosts sounded great.

Their new EP, God Save The Manics is cack though.

Firstly - must disagree with you on the GSTM EP - I think Firefight is a great song, though A Secret Society won't please a lot of people with its gothic style - and I think Pictureseque is a great song.

Secondly, I think Lifeblood is excellent with the exception of a couple of songs which were poorly produced - those being Solitude Sometimes Is (was the track I was looking forward to the most after the IOW gig) and Glasnost - both of which I absolutely hate listening to. The Lamacq live gig was great and the songs really shone through but they should have played Cardiff Afterlife at that gig - best song they have done in ages (probably ever). Also, The Soulmates was scandalously missed off the album release and wasn't even given a chance as a b-side thanks to the record company only letting them release two singles!
My heart got hijacked by you.......

Still, I'm more than happy to have those other 10 new songs on those two singles... Very few artists will do that. :P

What on earth are you on about?

I'm being extremely predjudicial here, but I wager $40 that if I took five minutes to find out what this guy did, I'd probably find he's not very good, or that he's aimed at a lower brow audience or whatever.

Seriously - "Nicky Wire"? Who cares if he's 'grown up' in ten years? What that really means is he hasn't grown at all, he just says this shit when the cameras are off instead.

He wasn't a child when he said it, he was an adult.
