I don't think there's anything worse than contemporary hip-hop, and there's no doubt that Run DMC is by far better to listen than 50 Cent.

The reason why hip-hop nowdays is looked down as a crappy genre is because the increasing amount of cliches, that are just by now getting incredibly annoying.

YOUR AVERAGE HIP-HOP VIDEO (93.5% OF THEM ARE EXACTLY LIKE THIS)

- A hip hop video is shown in slow motion and has slow faded cuts.
- Rapper and his posse arrive at a mansion for a party.
- All guys are wearing basketball or football jerseys, and LOTS of bling bling.
- They come in luxurios cars, and of course what would be of a luxurious car owned by a rapper without THE RIMS. So include a close-up shot of the rims.
- Once a rapper arrive other members of the posse come to "holla" at them, and greet them with the common hip-hop salute of handshake and pulling each other together.
- Bitches (or the term rappers use to call all atractive women) they're usually wearing skimpy clothes or bikinis. Bitches are a rapper sex toy and they're commonly seen on hip-hop videos shaking their booties or surrounding a rapper in a jacuzzi, a swimming pool, or a couch.

Well you've mentioned rap and hip hop and so on, but you've heard nothing before you discover Swedish Swing-music.... it's popular among sad scandinavian housewives. Really tragic. I hope someone comes up with a cure someday :/
"it's better to be hated for who you are, than to be loved for who you're not"
I like all music, there are some good, hip-hop, r&b and rap. I don't know what kind of hip-hop and rap you guys are listening to to hate it so much. I like Naz, Snoop Dog's old stuff, Tupac is good, Black Eyed Peas and Andre 3000 from outcast that popular song called Hey...something was hot. I just like the positive stuff, the ones whose lyrics are about peace and turning your life around I admire those people. Not the guys who sing about money and woman. They don't care about the fans only about money and fame. I like some country or a tiny bit.
I hate Rap, Country, and like the new-age Pop sh&t.

I hate rap because there are three things they sing about:
1. Partying w/ hot chicks
2. Getting it on (in very descriptive ways)
3. Getting "bling" or "cribs" or cars

I hate country cuz it's a little too, well, idk, i just hate it.

I CANNOT stand Hilary Duff, Ashlee Simpson, Lindsay Lohan (she's a wh*re now anyways), etc. The worst of all is Hilary Duff, URGH, she's such a wannabe, and she's not even a good wannabe. Anyone who goes from Disney Channel to "rock" is obviously trying to fake it. URGH.
Polkas, although it is darn good exercise.
Yes, it was a worthwhile experience.
Hate: Pop, Hip hop, Rap, Heavy mental, Country....
"I'm a greedy bitch" - Freddie Mercury REST IN PEACE FREDDIE MERCURY!!
Rap.... there are very few good rap songs that exist.

It's mostly just a guy talking over some riff stolen from another song, talking about how hard is life is (although he is probably now a millionare), and how many times he has been shot.
Then there's also a couple of mentions of his car as well.

Then the videos are usually some cinematic story about him and a thousand girls with bikini's, in which one is his actual girlfriend, like Mr.Jingles said.
Crazy Little Thing Called Love....
Also i hate emo...

Those whiney voices talking about their ex girlfriend while playing a guitar which is down to their knees, only playing about 3 chords throughout the whole song.
Crazy Little Thing Called Love....
I don't like "gangsta rap",
- casted pop singers and bands,
- depressing music of any genre,
I don't like hateful, racist, sexist and homophobic lyrics (brings me back to rap),
I don't like popularized classic music marketing like Helmut Lotti, Andre Rieu and similar artists ripping off what used to be good music
I don't like sampling and stealing what used to be good music
and I don't like endles boring "free jazz" which is not music for me but only noise but that is just my lack of Jazz knowledge
I do not want any google ads here.
retards attempting poetry ,need i say more?
Ogre Battle Lives FOREVER MORE!
reggaeton. There is a girl two doors down from me who always plays reggaeton on her worlds loudest sound system. I can hear it from the student center and god its ugly. Same stupid music with some guy with and ugly voice yelling over it. I thought id get away from it moving over to MA but no.
I also hate emo and folk music. bleah.
A little bit of heaven and a whole lotta hell.

Agree 100%!!!!
xyz
Alot of real redneck cornpone country and southern rock actually is just like rap in a way too and I hate it.

Always some jilted man or woman bitching about the woman or dude that cheated on them, drank too much, gambled too much, beat them and left, and they have nothing left but their hound dog and pick up truck (even the bands/singers are millionaires, just like in rap).

Tons of country singers have been in and out of prison for violence, gun posession, shooting, getting shot, drugs, beating their women...Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Johnny Paycheck, Steve Earle, etc.

They also are very mysoginist, singing about beating up on women and even murdering them.
