I'm not sure but since you've mentioned I Can't Live With You and I'm In Love With My Car QR versions - how about I Want It All then? Or it goes in The Miracle chapter?

And one little mistype - premiere of the ballet was in 1997, not 1977, I think ;-)

I don't remember where I read it , but I remember reading ages ago that during the sessions for "no one but you " / " I can't live with you rocks re take " , that Brian , Roger and John also did a re take of "Tie your mother down " - is this true / can you shed any light on this many thanks !

You mentioned UK 7"Unsegued - Japan 3" CDS TODP 2253 (Bo Rhap B-side)and Japan 7" Unsegued - Japan 3" CDS TODP 2253 (Bo Rhap B-side). Aren't they both the same single mix?

Sorry, but to be honest, I don't remember this at all. (That does not mean that you are mistaken - it just means I don't remember!)

I would be interested if anyone could shed further light - or - better still any evidence.

I think it has more to do with the car revs at the start and end of the track. If you give all the above versions a fair bench test, I think you may find miniscule differences between them - but certainly, nothing major. (Unlike say "Keep Passing The Open Windows" CD track and the 12" version).

However, because of those miniscule differences, I thought that if I did not list them as seperate versions, then someone would point those out also!

YES Serry - 1977 was indeed a typing error, and should have read 1997 instead. Sorry ;-(
But I did warn above that I can (and do) make silly mistakes - and that must be one of the silliest!

However, if anyone can come up with a version 20 years BEFORE it was written, then I think they may have a MAJOR rarity on their hands!

Brian and Roger gave an interview at Barcelona's Hard Rock Cafe talking about the new compilation (Queen Rocks), the brand new single (NOBY), their news solo records and the Ondas award for their contribution to music which they won that year.
The ceremony was televised.

"Los premios Ondas" are very important in Spain, these awards are the 'spanish' Ivor Novello.

In the run-up to the album's release, there was talk that the album would include either a remix of "Tie Your Mother Down" or a Japanese remaster of "Tie Your Mother Down", depending on the source you read, perhaps as a double a-side single as well. I am fairly certain the possibility of either was refered to in the fan club magazine prior to the album's release, but I'll have to take a look at my old copies to be sure. That's as much documentation as I could conceivably provide.

I remember this as well, although I thought it was a remix of 'If You Can't Beat Them'? Does anybody remember the first tracklisting of the album? I remember 'Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll' and 'Beat Them' was on there, and maybe even 'Ogre Battle', but I'm not sure otherwise.

I take notes from bits and pieces that I think are interesting and in 1997 I wrote down that on October 27th, 1997 Tie your mother down was going to be released and on December 15th I can´t live with you. No b-sides were known at the time.

From the fanclubsite (October 9th, 1997):
"The track [NOBY] will be a single, but not released until AFTER the album, and a second single is likely (I Can't Live With You). I have today received an email which says that someone has heard a "great new version" of Fat Bottomed Girls on radio in Australia...I'm afraid no one in the Queen camp has any idea about this, as they certainly haven't remixed this track! it now transpires also that the version of Tie Your Mother Down on the Rocks album is NOT a remix - this MIGHT be done as a possible third single."

and from October 13th, 1997:
"No-one but you will be the first single from Queen Rocks One and will be released AFTER the album, no single will be released prior to the album. I Can't Live With You is likely to be a second single in January but this hasn't been confirmed yet."
