I wouldn't say Ibahimovic....not at the moment.
But yeh there's even more candidates:
Trezeguet, Raul, Eto'o, maybe even Alberto Gilardino.

Well- Eto'o is not going to play at the World Cup...
But Drogba will- he's a great striler, even though I don';t like Chelsea that much...

Real Madrid's error was selling Morientes - FACT.
Morientes, Raul and Ronaldo was perfect. No offence to Owen, but there was no need. And whatever happened to Javier Portillo? He was the next big thing (the next Raul so said the Catalonians).
At the end of the day, when every one is on top form, Ronaldo is still arguably the best striker in the world. And I'd say probably followed somewhere very closely behind by Raul (the top scorer in Champions League history at the moment).
You can argue Ronaldinho and Henry etc but, at the end of the day, they aren't strikers, they are forwards. Ronadinho, at the moment, is probably the best player in the world. Couldn't agree more. It was a magical combination they had, but Madrid never fully appreciated him. As for Portillo, he was on loan to Fiorentina for some of last season and never really came into his own, this season he seems to have disappeared without trace.

Yes, I agree about Morientes and the fact that he was almost forced out of the club speaks volumes- that's why they had what- 2-3 years without any trophy? Morientes is great... i'm not really sure if Ronaldo STILL is the best striker. He's capable of great things but sometimes... I have a feeling he's not bothered anymore...
Raul is indeed great for real, even great for spain in qualifiers or friendlies- but show me ONE tournament when he shone. None. And I predict it will happen again. He's an exciting palyer, but... some spark at the time whan it REALLY matters is missing...

Van Nistelrooy, as far as I'm concerned, isn't a great striker per se, he is just lucky. Alright, fair enough, he still has the ability to finish and all that, but this season (and last) he has been nothing but too ordinary in my opinion. When he has shown his quality, he has been very indifferent.
But at the end of the day, I can't stand Man Ure or Van Nistelrooy. They're all too up themselves.

I don't think there is a better finisher than Michael Owen. Shevchenko or Owen. Robbie Fowler is the best finisher I have ever seen though. Not joking. Before he left Liverpool he was fantastic.

Owen wasn't given chance. He warmed the bench, came on and did well. He scored more goals per minute than any other Real striker last season.
(I can't back that statement up, I just guessed it on something I remember seeing at the end of last season). Managers don't favour certain players and that is all. Ask Souness and Bellamy.
Morientes is meant to be this great header of the ball, but everytime I've seen him the only person he's hit is the guy in row F.
