congrats, I know applying to colleges is a bitch, i went through the whole ordeal last year and goodness I was so glad it was over. And look! You dont have to worry about rejections if you got into your first choice right away. At my school rejections were a bfd, everyday around the time letters came out there was some kind of tear blubber fest going on. And also im envious that you got to pick your own choice, I got into west point and my mother and grandfather just wouldnt let me go :( bleah.

Wow, good news! I'm currently applying for colleges, aiming to study English Lit, Geography and Government and Politics. :)
I got lucky with that and the first letter I got was an acceptance from my first choice school.

I don't mean to be an asshole or anything here, but you made a typo on the word "typo." It just entertained me. It was...ironic, perhaps.
Either way, you really have to aim way below your capabilities. This way you are never disappointed :-P.
I'm only kidding; it's good that you strove for greatness, and for the several failures you will inevitably incur in doing so, it will only make it several times better when you do finally achieve one of the goals you have set among the stars.
I actually aimed for a 1450, the first time. I actually thought it was not only unlikely, but out of my ability completely. The second time I took it, I was absolutely sick, and could hardly read the questions on the test. Surprisingly, I boosted my math score, but my verbal score, predictably, fell considerably.
No matter what our scores were, FreddiesGhettoTrench, they were high enough to leave us in a very comfortable financial situation in college, which to me is extremely critical, especially in this day and age where tuition fees are soaring, and the price of living is hiking up room and board fees.

Where are you applying?
Anyway, I know in my school, the guidance department was a must-avoid if you wanted good college advice. If your school is the same way, I wouldn't hesitate to come here. As I recall, we have quite a few college-savvy people here.
